If your Xbox 360 controller is encountering joystick drift, use this four-step guide to repair your Xbox 360 controller. One of the most frustrating problems a gamer may have with their Xbox 360 controller is joystick drift. A joystick is used to interact when playing video games and can move in all directions. Joystick drift occurs when the controller's joystick moves on its own due to dust build-up. The build-up of dust can cause in-game character movements or camera angles to change without the player's input. The drift can significantly impact a player's gaming experience, making it difficult to control their character and perform actions accurately. Fortunately, it is very simple to fix joystick drift on an Xbox 360 controller and there is no need to purchase a new controller. This four-step guide will teach you the most effective solution for fixing joystick drift and getting your Xbox 360 controller back in working order.

This is not a genuine Xbox 360 controller and you truly aren't doing anything at all. You haven't even removed the thumbsticks to service the internals of the sensor assembly lol.
Hi, I did this with a genuine controller and it completely worked for me. I just wiped the metal frames and went round the inside-joystick that I could, with the Q-tip.
is replacing a joystick on a Xbox 360 wireless controller the same as replacing a joystick on a PowerA wired controller
Not sure, but i do know you need to be careful. The circuit board in the Xbox controller is very easy to damage. The pads can lift easily if not careful when desoldering. Add solder before you try to desolder.
