Having a missing stitch can be bothersome and annoying. This repair guide will show you how to create a “fake stitch” to replace the one that is missing, to make your piece whole again.

Identify where the repair is needed. Locate where the missing stitch should be.

Create a slip knot with the yarn. Leaving about a 3 inch tail at the end to weave in later.

Loop the slip knot loop over the hook, and pull the yarn through the base stitch

Chain stitch the amount of stitches that the missing stitch should be plus one.
So if the missing stitch is a single crochet stitch, chain stitch two stitches, if the missing stitch is a double crochet stitch, chain stitch three stitches, and so on.

Remove the crochet hook and knot the remaining loop. Cut off the yarn leaving another 3 inch tail.

Thread the darning needle with one of the 3 inch tails. It does not matter which one you choose.
