How to Replace Door Trim

Is the trim around your door damaged or missing due to accidents, wear, or overeager pets? Use this guide to quickly replace sections of door trim.

    • If necessary, remove the old trim from the door.

    • Measure along the inside of the door frame, from floor to corner.

    • Make sure to record the measurement for future reference.

If replacing a single section of old trim bring section of old trim to the store to match pattern and when doing stained wood have the store clerk try to match the stain.
