LG VX7000 Motherboard Replacement

If your motherboard has failed or is beginning to fail and you need to replace it, follow this guide for the LG VX7000.

Prior to beginning the guide, make sure to turn off the phone and disconnect or remove the battery and make sure that it is not connected to a charging cable.

Lay the phone, screen side down, in your palm.
Slide the grey button towards the top of the phone.

With the button unlocked, grab the battery on the sides and pull up, then slide the battery up to completely remove it from the phone.

Use the Phillips #00 and remove the four screws on the lower backside of the phone.
Remove the three rubber screw covers with tweezers and then the three screws underneath using a Phillips #00 screwdriver.

Detach the outer casing from the back of the phone.
There will be a significant amount of resistance to detaching the back casing.

Unsnap the gold rectangular connector and silver square connector from the motherboard.

Remove the motherboard. Do not remove other components.
Insert the new motherboard with the white side facing down.
Make sure the side buttons on motherboard are correctly aligned to avoid future complications.
