Turn laptop over and unscrew the eleven M2 x 6.0mm back cover screws with the Phillips #0 screwdriver.

Gently lift the cover plate off the body of the laptop.
Ensure that it does not pull on any components such as the USB ports.

Unplug the fan connector.
Carefully pull out the male header with your fingernails.
Avoid pulling on the wire with a lot of force because this could cause the wire to snap off of the connector frame.
