Giriş

Over time, Switch models may malfunction. One part that may stop functioning correctly is the SD card reader. The Switch system is notorious for its small internal storage space, so it might be impossible for owners to download additional game titles without an SD card.

A broken SD card reader or connector socket can prevent the user from properly using an SD card altogether. For this project, experience with applying flux is strongly recommended. Additionally, you should have prior knowledge of how to use a heat gun.

What you need

    • Power off the Switch.

    • Press and hold the black buttons on the back of the joy-cons, and slide them off.

    • There will be a black button behind each one of the switch joy-cons. This button must be pressed to allow the joy-con to be removed

    • Remove the 5 Phillips head #00 screws from each the left and right of the device.

    • Remove the 2 Phillips head #00 screws from the bottom of the device.

    • Remove the 4 tri-wing Y0 screws from the back of the device.

    • Lift the SD card cover and remove the Phillips #00 screw from the back of the device.

    • Carefully remove the back cover from the device.

    • Remove the sponge from the SD card reader

    • Slowly remove the SD card reader using tweezers.

    • Improper removal or insertion of the SD card reader can damage either the card reader or the connector socket.

    • Remove the 6 Phillips head #00 screws from the metal plate inside of the device.

    • Lift and remove the metal plate from the device.

    • Apply 400°C heat to the connector socket for 30 seconds to loosen the flux.

    • Carefully remove the FPC connector socket using the tweezers.

    • Remove the metal cover plate

    • Be careful with the heat gun in order to prevent harm to other parts or yourself

    • It is encouraged to wear heat-resistant gloves and to cover other components with aluminum foil or another metal casing.

    • Use the cotton swab to ensure that the FPC connector socket is completely secured in the flux.

    • Be careful with the heat gun in order to prevent harm to other parts or yourself

    • It is encouraged to wear heat-resistant gloves and to cover other components with aluminum foil or another metal casing.
