Pentax Optio WG-3 GPS Flash Replacement

If your Pentax Optio WG-3 GPS camera flash is not working, refer to this guide to replace the flash unit. Before starting, be sure the device is fully powered off and be sure to remove the battery.

  1. Pentax Optio WG-3 GPS Flash Replacement, Flash: adım 1, 1 resimden 1.

    • Turn over the camera so the screen is facing up.

    • Remove the four 5 mm Phillips #000 screws that secure the outer cover.

    • Flip over the camera so the bottom is facing up.

    • Remove the single Phillips #000 screw.

    • Remove the cover.

    • Remove the eight 5 mm Phillips #000 screws holding the circuitry together.

    • Carefully remove the circuitry.

  6. Pentax Optio WG-3 GPS Flash Replacement: adım 5, 1 resimden 1.

    • Upon removing the flash, there is a 2 mm screw that needs to be removed.

    • Remove the ribbon cable that attaches the flash from the circuitry.

  8. Pentax Optio WG-3 GPS Flash Replacement: adım 7, 1 resimden 1.

    • Remove the three 2 mm Phillips #000 screws from the left side of the circuitry.

    • These screws attach the circuit board to the shell of the camera.

    • Remove the circuitry from the front side of the camera

    • Find and remove the camera battery.

  10. Pentax Optio WG-3 GPS Flash Replacement: adım 9, 1 resimden 1.

    • Remove the final two 2 mm Phillips #000 screws from the front side of the circuitry.

  11. Pentax Optio WG-3 GPS Flash Replacement: adım 10, 1 resimden 1.

    • Pull the black front panel away from the circuitry.

    • The black panel is attached to the flash and is now ready to be removed and replaced.

    • The sensor is enclosed in the white case.
