This guide is designed to walk you through step-by-step procedures on how to replace the sand belt on a RIDGID Belt Sander R2740. A broken or worn down sand belt will cause the sander to not sand effectively and properly.
Sand belts need to be replaced after regular use of the device. Factors that could lead to belt deterioration include moisture, condensation, exposure to excessive cold and heat. The usable life of the sand belt depends on the material being sanded.
Before working on the RIDGID Belt Sander make sure the power tool is unplugged or disconnected from any power source. Failure to do so may result in electrocution or personal injury while removing the sand belt.
