The speaker is the component of the phone that allows the user to hear sound emitted from the device. The speaker is part of the system that converts electrical signals into sound waves.

Make sure the phone is turned off by pressing the power off button ensuring no data is lost.

Using either your thumb or the opening tools, remove the battery by prying you in the direction of the arrow

  • If removing battery is for the replacement of a new battery make sure to properly dispose of the old battery at a recycling center.

  • Remove the rubber inserts from the screw holes using the black metal tweezers. This is done by insering the tip of the metal tweezer down around the plastic insert.

  • Remove the 3.1mm long, Phillips #00 screws (Qty: 4) from the corners.

  • This is done by turning the skrew driver counter clockwise using little torque.

  • Seperate the phone's front case from the back case.

  • There is an intermediate decorative outlay around the front cases perimeter. This should be removed as well.

  • Remove volume slider button by using the tweezers to pry it out.

  • The volume slider button may fall out during the seperation of the front and back cases, this is ok.

  • Use the opening tools to seperate the circuit board from inside of the back case by prying between the circuit board and the case as shown.

  • The last picture is a view of the back of the circuit board.

  • Remove SOS button from circuit board with tweezers.

  • Pull black casing from the circuit board with fingers.

  • The black casing will not be able to be fully removed at this point

  • To fully remove the black casing, desolder the SOS button cable from the circuit board with a soldering iron.

  • The solder iron creates high temperatures that may cause bodily harm.

  • Once the black casing is removed, the speaker will now be exposed.

  • With the plastic opening tools, pry off the speaker from the circuit board.

  • Desolder the speaker cables from the base of the circuit board with the soldering iron.

  • The soldering iron creates high temperatures that may cause bodily harm.

  • Melt the new speaker wires to the circuit board with the soldering iron.
