Is your computer dead and you need your data or do you need more storage on your computer? This guide will provide the steps to access and remove the computer’s storage drive.

    • Power off your laptop before beginning disassembly.

    • Two 5.3 mm Phillips #1 screws boxed in red are located at the top right corner on the underside of the computer.

    • Remove the panel that houses the storage drive by unscrewing the two 5.3 mm Phillips #1 screws that hold it into place

    • The standard hard disk drive that comes with this laptop model should have a ribbon attached to it. Pull this ribbon back until the hard drive comes out of the socket.

    • If your drive doesn’t have this ribbon, it can be pushed out of place by wedging a plastic opening tool in between the drive and its socket and push it out.
