[* black] This is a good opportunity to find possible bad blocks (even on a new hard drive this is possible). This is accomplished by selecting "Security Options" and "write zeros to disc". This will take a long time, but its worth it. If there are bad blocks, the hard drive will be instructed to 'block' them, and it will use 'spare' blocks instead. There is no way to repair bad blocks after you install your system without reformatting, so again, this is a good time to do this.
