[* icon_note] There are five retaining clips on each side of the iPod. A small iPod opening tool will be used to separate the plastic front from the metal back of the iPod.
-[* black] Insert a small iPod opening tool into the left side of the iPod, with the edge of the tool pointing towards the metal back.
-[* black] Gently enlarge the existing crevice by wiggling the small iPod opening tool and moving it to the left.
-[* black] Continue doing so until the entire side of the iPod is loose.
+[* black] Insert the small iPod opening tool into the small gap you just created on the left side of the iPod, with the edge of the tool pointing towards the metal back.
+[* black] Run the iPod opening tool down the side seam, freeing all five tabs.
+[* icon_note] It may be necessary to wiggle the tool while working your way down the seam to free all the clips.
