-[* black] The threaded rod and coupling may need a hole for the wires to pass through, but the metal is soft enough to drill easily. remove the coupling and rod from the light fixture, keeping note to not move the coupler up the threaded rod. The coupler's location should give a good reference for the hole that will be drilled.
