The Peristaltic pump moves water from the Clean Tank to two nozzels that provide fluid to the Cleaning Head. The Silicone gasket that seals the connection between the pump and the fluid lines deteriorates over time and is easily wrecked when the pump is removed. This will cause leaks in the Scooba. The gasket is no longer available. What can be done to save the Scooba?

This shows the pump removed from the Scooba for Troubleshooting. The two white rings on the inlet and outlet lines at the Scooba are part of the gasket on the pump. The Scooba will now leak when it runs.

There are two rollers that "massage" a tube to pump fluid. A roller will pinch the tube and can cause the tube walls to stick and effectively block the pump. People will sometimes try to "prime" the pump by forcing fluid into the Scooba where the tank connects to the Scooba. This can separate one of the ends of the pump. You'll hear a "Pop".

Remove these two screws. You can then lift the U-shaped plastic part at the connections where the Tube enters and exits the pump roller and separate the tube from the U-shaped part. Then pull on one end of the pump tube and remove the tube from the pump.

Cut a 10 inch or 250mm length of replacement tubing and work it through the pump. It can be done without any dis-assembly. Turn the pump rollers until one is just about to pinch the tube. Push the tube up to the next roller. Keep pushing on the tube and turn the rollers until you can grab the end of the tube and pull it through.

Connect the tube ends to the Inlet and Outlet ports on the Scooba. A little dish soap in the ends of the tubes is helpful. This will be a bit of a stretch on the tubing, but it can be made to fit.

Then screw the pump into its place and allow the tubes to flex out the side. There cannot be any kinks in this tube.

Examine all the other tubing in the Scooba and replace any that is blocked.

Re assemble your Scooba and test! It can take about a minute for water to appear on the floor. The Scooba goes back and forth and then into an increasing spiral. By the time it starts on its decreasing spiral, cleaning water should appear. The picture shows what mine did.

This is a fix that will get rid of an easily wrecked gasket, and a blocked pump tube.
