It's always a good idea to minimize static electricity when working
on delicate electronics. Myself, I just stay put and finish the task at
hand and avoid walking around and shuffling my feet on the carpet
which generates static electricity. If it's a day when you are throwing
arcs-n-sparks when you touch car doors and doorknobs then I tend
to be even more cautious that day. But in any event, I do not use
a wrist strap nor other anti-static grounding measures.
However, consider thyself warned and if you blow something up
because of staticE then it's your fault and you knew better.
Better anti-static wrist straps have a ground prong that you plug
into the ground of the AC outlet. Then you have a clip lead that you
attach to the device chassis via an alligator clip.
Ay! Fikrimi değiştirmek istiyorum.
