My 1st tablet screen replacement—Surface Pro 3

A stranger bumped my surface off a chair and it fell on to the corner and shattered the screen.

This was my first tablet screen replacement. I read the reviews. But it was not as bad as I expected. Removing the old screen is tedious and requires patience. The screen is thin and shards fly off in all directions after it has been shattered. Other than that it was pain-free. I followed the instructions in the guide and it was a breeze once the old screen was out of the way.

Follow the guide. I used a heat gun and, to me, it made it easier. The top side where the front camera is located is perhaps the most difficult area. There are a lot of things thay can get damaged there, especially the wifi antenna. Do not dig deep and take your time in this area. You may need to download a recalibration tool for the screen to work properly. Test everything and make sure its working before you tape the new screen in place.
