If you have background apps running, it should die, so if it doesn't it will take quite a while for it to die. So you need to let it die. After you think it's dead, turn it on, and you should see the dead battery sign. so plug it into your computer and access iTunes, then just let it sit there, play around with iTunes for a bit, and it should turn on when it's charged enough to turn on. That's how I got mine to work. Good luck!
