I had this happen on an iPhone 7 Plus that I was working on. Double Check the connections from the screen going to the motherboard. Apparently one of the connections on the screen was not seated correctly and was causing the phone not to boot.
What size is the device? If it is a nexus 7 then you can determine the two versions by looking at the back of the device for a rear camera. if it does not have one then it is the first gen if it has a rear camera then it is the second. You can also determine it by the Version of Android it runs. The first gen only goes up to Android 5.1 and i believe the second one goes up to Android 6. Correct me if i am wrong.
Sense this is a touch screen and the circles usually show when someone would touch the screen. This means your touch screen is damaged or malfunctioning.
its possible that your back light is turning off either due to a problem with the power supply, inverter, or the lamps them selves. Try shining a flash light and see if you can see a faint image on the screen. that will tell you if it is the backlight.
you might have to use ODIN and a stock firmware file in order to flash the tablet back to stock. i have had to do this before and it is usually my first thing to do if there is a software problem that a factory reset does not fix.
If you are using a Microsoft Account then you will have to use this link to reset your password. If you cant do this then you can still access your files by plugging the hard drive into another computer and accessing them that way. If this is a local account and not a microsoft there is software that can reset the password easily.
Update. Heat is not required but might make removing the screen a little easier. I did remove the old screen form my friends tablet with no heat and a little 99% IPA removed the little bit of adhesive that was left behind. The new screen went on perfectly and the tablet works PERFECTLY. Another Successful repair thanks to Ifixit and there repair guides and tear-down guides. I knew what i was in for when i started.
My grandma owns the 4G model and someone broke the volume down button. because of this the volume goes down on its own or the device goes into recovery mode. It actually reset it self by doing this but there is no use in me setting it back up just for it to be reset again. Any help you be great.
has anyone ever had the buttons break on this phone? i know on my old droid maxx one little mistake when putting the board in the metal frame was enough to break the volume buttons.
just repaired my friends iphone 5s screen but he said the phone was dead and i am not sure if the phone works because i am getting nothing on the screen and my computer does not see the phone at all. can someone please give me some advice. no i do not get the charging sign. hope the phone is not broken or the screen. i have also reseated the display connectors and to no difference. some advice would be very helpful.

So heat is not required to remove the digitizer completely?
You really should edit the one photo with the Windows COA sticker so no one steals your product key
