Huge fan of smartphones and I work in telecom. My daily driver is a First Gen Google Pixel XL. My best phone I have ever had is definitely the Samsung Galaxy S4 (when that was cool)

If the device doesn't power on its probably a total loss, even checking the device requires the screen assembly to be removed.

Depending on your carrier, upgrading to ios 11 may have interrupted the network locking system. If you are running simless then you will need to go to the Apple store to verify or just try calling them :D

The Google Pixel XL's NFC pad is actually located behind the glass on the back, however, I find the most responsive spot right under the camera.
