I just bought (16Jan2011) a refill kit after MetaCrawing(googlin for most) HP 27 black. ebay $12 delivered WAY fast (2 days) from silicon valley digitide (that was on the shipping label-ebay name may vary. 4, 100ml bottles of HP specific inks (HUGE) 4 syringes with capped needles - nice no instructions - see the WEB ;-) http://www.ehow.com/how_6642017_refill-tri_color-ink-cartridge-correctly.html easy, done, nice. Note the "Ink Level" feature does NOT measure ink, It counts down while printing. Most printers remember the last 2-3 cartriges. So your newly FILLED cart will show Low Ink. Sites describe fooling the 2-3 memories by swapping different carts until it forgets your cart-so it resets to FULL. http://www.misterinkjet.com/hpreset.htm To avoid getting dry ink 'dust' in the syringes, I opted to rinse them with isopropyl alcohol.
I have always enjoyed the hard, yet brittle alloy of an Exacto Blade. These are small pointed 'razor blade' types available in most hardware and all hobby stores. For small screws, use the blade with about a 15 degree point (pointy) and work the tip into one of the obliterated slots of the former Phillips head screw with a small, firm, slicing motion. The harder alloy will cut the screw's alloy, then break off as you work ;-) With patience, you'll have worked a slot into the screw head (similar to, yet finer than, the Dremel solution above) And the tip of the Exacto Blade will be just about the right size to use as a screw driver as in the Dremel solution; firm pressure to keep the tip in the slot, and back it out. If it snaps, get a new blade. Beware of loosing patience and making a mess of it(candid personal experience). The wider your new slot is, the better leverage you'll have in turning the screw (radius=lever in this case). If you can get some jewelers diagonal cutters to bite into the screw's...
Definitely Puppy Linux, Bruno 2 The operating system AND apps all fit in under 512Mb. Obviously that means they run fast (lean coding) It can be run from CDROM(can load entirely into RAM for super speed), HD, or USB drive. This Bruno version seems to find everything i've thrown at it. I use the USB Puppy Linux Bruno 2 stick as a Rescue tool to retrieve data from botched Winblows systems for friends. Awesome. For up to date FireFox and most office functions with full codecs for music, cameras, phones, video etc, ready to run in such a small download, Ya gotta try it. ;-) The newer Puppy Lucid is Ubuntu based for compatibility. Ubuntu has done WONDERS for making Linux GUI accessible. And the Mint project has made Ubuntu EASY!!- Great Job Folks! Enjoy!

The leanest and fastest Linux Distro I've found is Puppy Linux. The operating system AND apps all fit in 1gb, MAX. A minimal install gives Firefox and business type apps in under 512Mb With room to store your own files too. Obviously, such lean code runs FAST! Specifically the Puppy Bruno 2 has been able to run on desktops, and laptops alike. It even ran better (finding the USB Broadband modem) on the Eee PC than PuppEee which was designed for that platform. It can be run from a CDROM, HD, or USB flash drive. My 8Gb Flash drive with Puppy Bruno 2 has Open Office, qbitorrent, complete 'rescue ware', and a full multimedia suite. almost all music, files, and video formats run natively. The operating system AND my apps all fit in 1gb, MAX. (leaving 7Gb in a separate partition storage drive) Such a lean, fast OS can revive even 486 PCs to "Windows" speed. Oh, yeah; no more viruses means no speed degradation with use ;-) The latest Puppy Lucid is Ubuntu-based if you're into compatibility with a major Distro. I...
