iMac Intel 21.5" EMC 2428 Hard Drive
I used this guide to install a SATA SSD in my iBook G3. It took about an hour to disassemble, and another half hour to reassemble.

Ableconn IDE to SATA m.2 adapter
I used Carbon Copy Cloner v3.47 to replicate my 10.4 boot disk from the original HDD to the newly installed SSD.
I was given a dead MacBook pro with a battery that was bulging so much that the bottom cover was pushed out almost a half inch. The battery was quite easy to replace using this guide. I bought the battery sold by iFixit. I have only one piece of advice - BUY THE TRIPOINT SCREWDRIVER! I was impatient and removed the tripoint screws by trying to jam in a flathead screwdriver. I got them out, but now the screwheads are stripped a bit. Also, as others have recommended, be sure to calibrate the battery: Turn on the computer and let it drain down to 10%, then charge it uninterrupted to 100%.
Great instructions. The comment that the keyboard and trackpad cables don’t need to be disconnected is spot on. Just lift up the top case and tape it to the screen, and there is plenty of room to work on the hard drive.
My only disagreement is with the difficulty rating. I’d rate it as medium, rather than difficult. I’ve taken apart a 2010 Mac mini recently to swap in an SSD - THAT is DIFFICULT. This is easy in comparison - mostly just removing and keeping track of lots of tiny screws. On the other hand, the previous owner had dropped it a few times, denting the case, so the only hard part involving the release of a not-visible latch wasn’t an issue for me as the dented case had caused the latch to become ineffective.
Excellent instructions. Very easy to do. I used this screwdriver to remove the screws from the bottom of the case: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00N1R...
and I used the Pentalobe-6 from this set to remove the screw holding in the OEM SSD:
After removing the stock drive, I installed a Samsung M.2 EVO 850 512Gb drive. It is working quite well. I used this adapter so that the M.2 drive fit in my 2012 Macbook Air:
