Moin! Ein SSD Upgrade geht ohnehin nur beim Modell OHNE Touchbar! Dazu brauchst Du eine " Kastrierte " NVME SSD und den entsprechenden Adapter-> Sabrent Rocket 2242 M2 NVME & Voila Reve Adapter. Laut Mactracker wurde das Modell von low End 128GB bis high End 1TB SSD geliefert! Mag also sein daß der Rechner 2 TB NICHT verwalten kann. Versuch macht klug! ( Kostet allerdings auch mehr als 3 Mark50 ) Gruß aus Krautland
Devamını oku@notebooknerds: Danke für den Tip , hat nur leider nicht funktioniert. Das Teil ist im laufenden Betrieb " sudden death" gestorben, ohne Zutun von Kaffee, Wasser oder dergl. Ist also ein Totalschaden, nur noch als Ausschlachtteil verwendbar. Gruß aus Krautland
Devamını oku@patina70 : Du hast hoffentlich nicht irgendeinen Superbillig Akku eingebaut. Die sind meist Schrott und nach kurzer Zeit schon kaputt. Lade und installiere mal “ Cononut Battery”. Das gibt sehr zuverlässig Auskunft über den Akkuzustand. Bei Austauschakkus habe ich mit denen von Egoway die besten Erfahrungen. Gruß aus Krautland

Devamını okuHi! Most likely this machine behaviour ist caused by a faulty GPU. https://www.apple.com/support/macbookpro-videoissues/ If it was the cable, there would be a grey screen only and the MBP would boot from your hard drive being used externally via USB / FireWire. Kind regards
Devamını okuHi Stewart! There is no problem putting an SSD in that machine. I usually prefer the Samsung 850 EVO. Kind regards Update: Hi Stew! Overnight it came to my mind: Depending on your OS you should install TrimEnabler or Chameleon If you are running the latest version of Yosemite, use the command line and type: sudo trim force enable You don't need any 3rd party software anymore. That should help extended SSD's lifecycle. Kind regards from Krautland

Devamını okuHi David! For isolating the problem, find the plug from the on/off switch on the mainboard, unplug it, clean the contacts & hotwire ur G5 with e.g. with a PH 00 philips screwdriver. If you don't get a reaction u can be sure ur power supply is zilched. In this case see the G5 repair section on this site --> Power supply change. The pictures shown here, will give u an impression of what happens to the unit underneath a leaking cooling system. Good luck Alex the Kraut
Devamını okuHigh Stuart! Im just working with a model like yours ! This family was suffering from dead inverter bords and dead backlites. You say: ' .... screen flashes white and then stays black!' This usually indicates a dead backlite 'bulb'. I just recently had this issue on a younger model.--> Your display is dead! Find a used one, or a new panel on ebay! You cant use another Mac as an ' external monitor'. You really do need a monitor and a display port connector (VGA/DVI) , startup ur MB an close the lid immediately; then the external will take over. At least u will find out, whehter ur mainboard is dead or alive . Good Luck! Kind regards from Krautland
Devamını okuHigh MacHead! U remeber Nr.5 from 'Short Curcuit' ? Thats vott happened to ur ' spill victim'. Usually u turn the victim upside-down, sit it on a towl for ~hours, then put it in a plasticbag filled with a melange of salt an rice & let it rest for at least 3 days. Then u can assume, its nearly dry! I've treated several 'spill-kills' , none came away without a new topcase 'and' a new mainboard! In ur case, i'd say:' No backup, no mercy' ! Erstaunlich genug, daß Ihr für dieses "Bic Einwegfeuerzeug " eine 2 gebt!!! Eine 0 wäre wohl gerechter, denn " REPARIEREN " läßt sich das Teil ja wohl nicht mehr, nur wegwerfen und neukaufen! ƒ¨ç∆ Åππ@€!
Well, Apple is so fed fat with its 'iDevices', that there is no need to build decent computers anymore, as they used to! I guess, its just a matter of time until they sell out the computer section to Lenovo / Dell! ( That would be a real win! )
Me, myself, I call these 'new' model the ultimate 'iCrap' ! Before spending that amount of bucks, i'd rather get a Dell Core i 5/7 Laptop & build myself a Hackintosh
