This is a brilliant guide to help open up a Apple ipod classic 5 generation. I used the plastic opening tools and managed to do it without scratching the case. My problems occurred afterwards. I replaced the hard drive with a iflash solo card from http://iflash.xyz and installed a SanDisk Extreme 128 GB microSDXC . Put in a new battery and booted it up. I was directed to plug it in and go to iTunes. Windows instructed me to format the card but it was unable to do.I took out the card and attempted again to format it this time through the computer.having replaced it back in the ipod I get the message to install the drive. Can any one tell me how to overcome this problem.
