I personally use a 3M 1055 2mm Double Sided Hi-Temp Tape. Its almost clear after backing and top are removed and works very well. Also bonds better with temp applied like from a heat gun. I use it in iPods, iPads, and for a few things in iPhones. Also found it works well in most other devices. You can purchase this tape cheaply online and the rolls generally last quite awhile. Im guessing if you replaced the prox flex cable, you did not remove the screen. In which case, you have to heavily bend and shift those display cables around to get into the assembly and remove screws etc. You probably damaged the LCD connector. Which is why you should always remove the screen to replace a power button / Proximity flex cable. Try a new screen and it will resolve the display issues. Hope this helps!

Sounds like the charge port may be bad or broken. I run a repair shop fixing phones and we see a lot of those micro usb charge ports go bad or get broken. Most of them are tiny and flimsy to begin with. Luckily the Galaxy SII does not require any soldering to replace it. The part is pretty cheap and readily found on eBay or Amazon for under $20. I would try that next. Should take care of it. If a new battery and new port wont work, then its most likely an issue with the motherboard. Hope this helps!

The connectors for the Digitizer and LCD will never go in past the white line on an iPad. I've repaired many of them and they always either butt up directly with the connector to the line....or slightly before it. The headphone jack is a different story as I really haven't had a need to take too many of those out. Mostly see normal screen replacements. But Heres a tip. There is usually a small section of slightly thicker plastic on top where the white line would be and right up to the tip of the connector. If you us a safe open pry tool or plastic spudger you can usually get a little better force on the connector without bending the cable. If you have neither, the corner of a credit card might work as well. It shouldn't take much force really (hence the name zero insertion force) But sometimes you need a little extra push to snug it into place. If there is no going any farther without really getting into in, then there may be damage to the connector. Bent pins inside the socket or even damage to the...

Most likely a bad spot in the digitizer. If you turn the keyboard sideways you will probably find the same spots are dead on the phone and not just the keyboard. Perhaps it is a poor quality part. Maybe you damaged or crimped the cable trying to install it. There are many possibilities. I would change out for a new glass and be sure to install it very gently and keep an eye on the cables attached to the screen. Make sure you dont bend them excessively and make sure they feed smoothly through the frame when putting the new screen on. This will help ensure you dont damage anything and the digitizer works correctly after install. Hope this helps!

I have seen this before at my repair shop on an iPhone 5 that was water damaged. I had to go through a few screens (some cracked glass and others OEM, others new) to find one that would kick back on like his was. Most of the new screens and OEM screens wouldn't even work. But found one that was original part and had small crack and it worked just had the lines like you say. I know his phone was water damaged but I'm not sure I could explain why one screen worked and another didn't. Especially when the one that wouldn't work on his phone would work fine on another.

The home button is installed in the mid frame assembly that holds the LCD and Digitizer. The home button has two small pins that sit on top of the Dock connector when the screen is installed which is how the home button makes contact and works. If the pins are bent or broken....you would need to pop the lcd out, heat and pry the glass off the frame and then replace the home button. If the pins are in good order....you can test to see if its a Dock issue but opening the screen up, but leaving it plugged in. While the phone is on...use a small screwdriver to touch one of the metal pads on top of the dock where the home button pins make contact....and touch the shaft of the screwdriver to the metal (chrome color) rim around the back housing. If it makes the home button actuate on the phone...then the issue is with the button itself and you should just replace the button. If it wont even actuate the home button activity on the phone from the dock....then the dock is bad and needs replaced. You can try cleaning...

I would have to say bad part or an improperly seated digitizer cable. I'm assuming if you have worked on these before...then you checked that to make sure it was seated properly. I've fixed over 1,000 iPhone 4 and 4s screens and a lot of issues can be blamed on poor quality parts. Generally, if you do a bunch of them its best practice to find a good supplier has high quality parts with OEM LCD's in them and keep ordering from the same person. If its the touch portion that is "freaking out" and touching on its own....Then I would highly doubt its anything to do with the prox flex. Unless things are getting touched when the phone is being used for a call....then the screen is probably not shutting off when put up to ear to talk...and cheek or face is pressing the screen. This is a prox issue. But if you are just holding it in hand and its doing its own thing...shouldnt have anything to do with the prox. Hope this helps.

I've seen this on several iPhone 5's so far. Usually the button still "clicks" fine, but just doesnt function correctly. If its still under warranty, you can take it to an Apple store and they will replace. Its a part issue. If its not under warranty for some reason (they come with 1 year)....Then you need to replace the power/vol/mute flex cable. This is about a $8 part online just about anywhere. Its rather difficult to replace.... it takes time and patience to install correctly. But it will resolve the issue as well. Hope this helps!

I can say i've seen some cheaper lower quality screens easily distort the LCD even when installed correctly. Did you get on eBay or Amazon and buy a screen? This could certainly be a factor. The aftermarket or copy LCD's used in these are often more susceptible to this distortion. Hope this helps!
