there's a reset button. with the power on, push that in and hold it for a minute. that should reset it to factory default. default IP address of NAS; 169.254.0.1 you have to set the IP of your computer to be on the same subnet, in this case that would be a computer ip of 169.254.0.XXX xxx can be any number that's not in use, like .1. pick a number between say 20 and 250 that another device on your network isn't already using. hope that helps.
you can use the winpe boot environment. it's free, download it from microsoft and make a boot disk. boot with that and use the imagex utility to clone the hard drive to a microsoft .wim image. using the same winpe boot disk, boot a pc and image the drive with imagex. use diskpart and dism utilities to manipulate partitions, etc...
