I think I can help you with a piece of electric tape! Basically when you take the unit apart the first piece you take off to get to the motherboard (battery housing, L and R trigger housing) is the problem. There are two ribbon connectors on this piece for the L and R triggers. Well the R trigger is the problem. The ribbon connector comes in contact with the metal shield that it site near (bottom side of where the battery sits). Anyway you can see nintendo puts a little sticky rubber thing so the wire doesnt come into contact with the metal. Well sometimes this isnt enough and the ribbon connector still touches that metal shield. Simply add more electric tape to the metal so the ribbon connector doesnt touch it. I hope this clarifies it for you. If you need further assistance feel free to contact me b_hayes820@yahoo.com
if it they arent coming dont force them. Apply a drop and i mean a tiny drop of oil (wd-40, pb blaster, trumpet oil, car oil, whatever). you need to let the drop of oil work in there for 20 seconds or so and try again. it is best to work the screw in and out meaning tighten and loosen it to get it free and even after its free you might have to tighten and loosen to work that oil in there. It will come out like this with patience
if you see horizontal lines or lines of blocks that means you didnt fully make the connection on the your connector. The ribbon cable is not fully seated correctly on the connector to the motherboard
i looked all over ebay for the front panel replacement and cant seem to find it, do you know of any sources?
