I am a 14 year Navy Veteran where I worked as an aircraft mechanic. My interest with fixing things started when I was 10 with tearing down lawn mower engines and rebuilding them. My dad saw an opportunity and I was the local lawn mower prodigy lol! While working on aircraft I found a love for electronics and began repairing aircraft electrical and radar systems. That experience gave me the basic knowledge of troubleshooting and changing out hardware. For most of my life I have been a hardware and troubleshooting guy. Within the last year I had neck surgery and began repairing iPhones and iPads for resale on Ebay. I opened an Ebay store and started doing iPhone screen repairs on site with my customers. I offer screen repair at the location of the customers choice, I can go to there work or I have my truck set up as a mobile repair station as well. Luckily my truck has a household 3 prong plug so I can properly ground my ESD mat and wrist band. As far as I know I am one of the only technicians to offer on site repairs in the New Orleans area. I plan on posting questions and answering any questions I can. I just started making board repairs so having this community is awesome!
"My phone got very hot, then the screen stopped working?" için yanıtThea I know its a little late but it sounds like to me you blew out the backlight filter due to a short inside the phone. Typically when the phone gets excessively hot it is due to a short. Has the phone ever been in water as that is the usual reason for a short. Either that or a botched screen replacement. The good thing is your phone is not toast, this can be fixed. You need to find a repair shop that specializes in micro soldering on mobile devices. If there are none in your area there are quote a few that accept mail ins. Check out Jessa at iPad Rehab. Here is the link www.mendonipadrehab.com. If you just want your data and you can see the home screen with a flashlight as previously commented you can use the flashlight to navigate your phone, back it up and buy a new phone. At this point it is about cost versus replacement. Good luck!
"Water damage, no taptic function- but does this mean bad Touch ID too?" için yanıtOn the iPhone 7 the home button is not mechanical, it uses the haptic engine just like the screen does so if your home button is responding then the haptic engine is functioning. If only you Touch ID is being affected you may try cleaning off the home button to remove any dirt or deposits from the water. If that does not work since the phone is rated as water resistant I would take it to the Apple Store and see if they may swap it out under warranty.
"iPhone recognized by itunes but screen is black" için yanıtJust an idea other than long screw but did you check to see if you blew out your backlight? If you removed the screen with the battery connected and as you said pressed down and twisted the connector you may have blown out the backlight filter. If you disconnect the battery, reconnect it, hit the power button and then shine a flashlight onto the screen at an angle you may see the apple logo then your homes screen (it will be very dark). If you do see the apple logo or home screen then you blew the backlight which will require micro soldering to replace the filter capacitor. Good luck, hopefully this helps!
"iPhone Screen is not Working" için yanıtTotally agree with the other answers however it sounds like the screen is shot so you may want to order a new screen assembly meaning it comes with the camera and thermal shield installed and a new battery. A wet battery is a disaster waiting to happen so I would say follow the other answer and order a new screen assembly/battery.
"screen is not turning on after screen replacement" için yanıtEveryone is right, its the backlight filter, this has been a common occurrence lately. The 6s has 4 volts steady to one of the LCD connector pins and ground is literally right next to it so if you go to center the connector with the battery connected, poof thats it (you can actually see a puff of smoke sometimes). The key lesson is to ALWAYS disconnect the battery when performing any repair or unfortunately you will be sending it to a board level repair shop for the backlight filter. Also just a warning on this phone if the screen fails to come on immediately disconnect the battery before pressing on or adjusting the connectors because of the close proximity of power to ground. Luckily it sounds like just the first capacitor in line right below the LCD connector. This is a link to a well known micro soldering shop that you can mail it into for the repair. www.mendonipadrehab.com. Hope this helps!
"low sound even after replacing front camera flex AND ear piece/speaker" için yanıtWhere did you purchase the parts? Thats the problem with aftermarket parts you have to be careful not to get low quality parts. I have never had any problems with the parts on this website. Amazon and Ebay you want to make sure you buy from someone who is highly rated with quite a lot of reviews not just 10. Also read the reviews, that will keep you out of trouble. As for right now ensure nothing is blocking the earpiece port on the screen, that may take removing the screen and removing the camera and ear speaker assembly. Reinstall them and pay close attention not to block anything during reinstallation.
"Why won't my iPhone charge (Liquid Damage)" için yanıtOscar I agree with the previous answer and want to add one thing TURN IT OFF AND DO NOT TURN IT BACK ON OR CHARGE IT until you have thoroughly cleaned it. Every time you turn it on or charge it you are shorting out another component. Its like a domino affect, the next time you power it on may be the last because eventually you will short out a major component which it sounds like you may have in the U2IC chip mentioned by medic. On top of cleaning it you will need to order a new battery and possibly a new screen (I would suggest from this website). Typically neither survive the initial water damage and if they do they eventually fail. Just some extra information.
"Is there a way to sell/part out a locked iPad? (Locked via iCloud)" için yanıtI just got done doing the same thing, I bought an iPad 4 locked and took it apart to part out. The LCD is worth the most so follow the guides they provide on this website to take it apart. The LCD could bring about $50 on eBay just make sure that protect it once its removed. You can also sell the logic board for parts, techs that do board level repairs will buy it just for the capacitors and chips.
"Hone button crack replacement" için yanıt@rajeshree Yes the home button will function however the Touch ID will not, just like the iPhone 5s-6s the home button is matched to the logic board. You put a new one on Touch ID is lost. Hope this helped
"Battery Drains extremely quick even in standby and airplane" için yanıtIt sounds like to me that you need to change out the battery. Where did you purchase the phone? I am asking because if you purchased it second hand, off Ebay as refurbished or even from a carrier it may have a low quality battery in it. These cheap batteries to not contain the "gas gauge" function that allows you to check your usage (you should be able to check it at any percentage). If you are feeling froggy and want to change it yourself there are guides on this website as well as Ifixit videos on youtube on how to replace it. I would also purchase your battery from this website instead of Amazon or Ebay just to ensure you get a OEM quality replacement. One quick way to check and rule out your power management IC as you discussed is to turn your phone off, wait a few seconds and plug the charger in connected to the wall. If the phone boots up without pushing the power button then there is a problem with the IC, if not it is most likely just a dead battery. If you do not want to do it yourself you can...
