Netbook Will Not Turn On
The device will not turn on after pressing the power button.
Faulty Power Adapter
Check that the power adapter is plugged into the netbook and an outlet. If the power adapter is plugged in and the blue light is on, the power adapter is not faulty. If the power adapter is plugged in and the blue light is not on, then the power adapter is faulty. Consider sending the faulty power adapter in for repair or replacing the power adapter.
Faulty Battery
To check if the battery is faulty, try to charge the netbook battery using the power adapter. If the blue LED light on the power adapter is on but the netbook will not power on after a few minutes of charging, then the battery is faulty. Screen is Black and Will Not Display Content
The netbook screen is black and does not display anything on it when powered on.
Faulty Screen Display
If the netbook is powered on with the LED lights on and the screen shows a black display, try to reboot the netbook by powering off the device and then powering the device back on by holding down the restart button on the netbook. If this manual restart does not solve the problem, consider contacting the netbook company for repair services.
Recent Updates or Installed Program Problems
If the netbook screen turned black after an software update was performed or a program was recently installed, try to reboot the device by powering the netbook off and on by holding down the restart button. If this manual restart does not solve the problem, consider restoring the netbook to factory settings.
Netbook Will Not Connect to Wireless
The netbook cannot connect to wireless that is accessible in your area.
Wireless is Disabled
If the netbook is not connecting to your wireless internet, press the Function (Fn) and F2 keys simultaneously to toggle the wireless connection on and off. If using this key combination does not allow the netbook to connect to wireless internet, consider checking with your wireless internet provider for service problems.
Faulty Wireless Network Card
If the netbook can not connect to your wireless internet, or the bluetooth is not working, the problem could be a faulty wireless network card. Consider replacing the wireless network card with our Wireless Network Card Replacement guide.
Spontaneous Shut Down
The netbook powers off suddenly for no apparent reason.
Faulty Power Adapter
Check to ensure the power adapter is plugged in to an outlet and the netbook. If the power adapter is plugged in and the blue light is on, the power adapter is not faulty. If the power adapter is plugged in and the blue light is not on, then the power adapter is faulty. This problem could be the result of a frayed cord in the power adapter. Consider sending the faulty power adapter in for repair or replacing the power adapter.
Faulty Fan
If your netbook appears to be overheating when it spontaneously powers down, the problem could be with the fan. Cleaning or replacing the fan using our Fan Replacement guide may remedy the issue.
Keyboard or Touchpad are Unresponsive
The keys, entire keyboard or touchpad do not respond to user actions.
Touchpad is Disabled
If the netbook touchpad is unresponsive, press the Function (Fn) and F3 keys simultaneously to toggle the touchpad on and off. If this key combination does not enable the touchpad for use, consider replacing the touchpad.
Faulty Keyboard
If the netbook keyboard does not respond to any user keystrokes and/or the keyboard shows visible cracks or damage, consider replacing the entire keyboard using our Keyboard Replacement guide.
