The Battery Fails to Hold Charge
Your laptop has trouble holding charge.
The Battery is Old or Damaged
Every battery has a certain number of cycles of full power until it starts to lose its capacity to hold a charge. If you have had the ASUS Q325U for more than one year, the battery is experiencing a normal decrease in charge capacity after about 300 cycles. If you have spilled water or other liquids on your computer, this can cause damage to the battery that could be dangerous, and you should replace it immediately. You can replace your battery with this battery replacement guide.
The Charger is Defective
The battery will not charge with a charger that is broken or incorrect. The ASUS Q325U uses a USB type C charger. If your charger is defective, replace it.
The Computer is Running Older Programs
Check if you have older programs running on a newer system. Older programs will consume more power and run through more charge cycles, lowering your battery’s charge capacity. They can also cause the CPU to heat up, and higher temperatures negatively affect battery life and performance. Delete old and obsolete programs from your computer.
The Device is Overheating
The computer heats up significantly while in use.
The Processor is Working Too Hard
If the internal cooling system is working fine, it’s possible that the CPU is overwhelmed and generating more heat than the cooling system can handle. First, let your laptop cool down for a few minutes and restart it. This terminates all the computer’s processes allowing it to start back up with a clean slate. If the laptop is still overheating after a recent restart, open Task Manager to check which specific processes are overworking the processor. Terminate the processes that use too much CPU or end other background processes that you aren’t currently using. While running an intensive program, consider using your laptop in a cooler environment.
There is a Blockage in the Exhaust Vents
Blocked vents may be the cause of your overheating laptop. First, while you are using device, you should never place it on surfaces that block your ventilation fans. If your ventilation fans are not externally blocked, there may be dust and other materials stuck in the vents or the fans, causing an internal blockage. Open the back panel of your laptop and check for visible blockage in the fans or air vents, and carefully remove it.
The CPU Fan is Faulty
If your laptop is overheating and your fan is not on or is making abnormal sounds, then it isn’t working properly. A malfunctioning fan won’t cool the laptop, causing it to overheat. In this case, identify the broken fan and replace it using this CPU fan replacement guide.
The Display Will Not Turn On When Powered On
The display is black or not fully on when the laptop is on .
The Brightness is Too Low
You may not be able to see your display if the brightness of the display is turned down too low. To raise the brightness, press on the F6 key, which will increase the brightness of your display.
The Screen is Broken
If the power light is “ON”, remove the battery and any portable external devices such as a USB, internet cable, or memory card. Now hold down the power button for 15 seconds. Finally, reinstall the battery and restart the computer.
If you this does not work, you may need to replace your screen or your laptop may have a complicated hardware issue.
The Touchpad is Not Responding
The laptop is powered and running, but the touchpad is not responding.
The Touchpad is Disabled
There is a possibility the touchpad settings have been disabled. Go to your computer search bar and search “touchpad settings”. If the touchpad is enabled in these settings, you should now check your keyboard for the touchpad disabling button. It is located directly above and between the “7” and “8” keys, and is labeled “F9”. It has an image of a touchpad with a slash through it. Press that once and try the touchpad once again.
The Driver Needs Updating
Users may have experienced non-responsive touchpads after downloading Windows 10. Most touchpads are automatically updated but sometimes you may need to manually update your touchpad driver. Open your device manager and find your touchpad. Right-click on the touchpad section and select “Update Driver Software”. If an update is available, it will update.
The Laptop Needs a Hard Reset
Sometimes a hard reset can fix simple glitches in your laptop. Completely shut down your laptop and unplug all accessories and cords. Let sit for 30 seconds, then remove the battery. Then insert the battery and reboot.
The Touchpad is Faulty
If nothing has helped, you may have a broken touchpad. Consider removing and replacing your malfunctioning touchpad.
The Keyboard is Not Working
The keyboard on your laptop won’t respond.
The Keys are Stuck in Place
If certain keys cannot be pressed, there may be something underneath physically blocking the connection. If you suspect this is the case, pop the individual keys out and carefully remove the debris underneath.
The Keys are Broken or Missing
If the keys on your laptop are either missing or appear broken, you should replace them using this guide. If this does not work, you may have a complicated hardware issue that may require full keyboard replacement.
The Entire Keyboard is Unresponsive
If none of the keys on your keyboard work, first try restarting your computer.
If you suspect your keyboard is damaged, check to see whether an external USB keyboard works. If the external keyboard does work, your laptop’s keyboard is most likely damaged and you may need to replace it with a new one.
If your the external keyboard fails to work when plugged in, your installed keyboard driver may be malfunctioning. To fix this, open your device manager and reinstall the latest version of your laptop’s keyboard driver.

I’m getting a “Page Fault” error causing a BSOD, which was happening several times a day. I checked the disk for errors, and rebuilt Windows 10 on this Asus Q325U. The BSOD stopped for two days, and it just recurred. Any suggestions?

I spilled water over my keyboard yesterday to my ASUS Q325U, I put it under rice for 16 hours and now is working normally. Should I do something else? Does this laptop has keyboard spill protection??
