No Spray
Vacuum has little to no spray when using.
Clogged Nozzle or Spray Hose:
- Cause: Accumulated dirt, debris, or mineral deposits can clog the nozzle or spray hose, hindering proper water flow.
- Solution: Clean the nozzle and spray hose thoroughly. Use a small brush, a pin, or compressed air to remove any obstructions. Soaking them in warm, soapy water can also help dissolve mineral deposits.
Water Tank Isn't Seated or Sealed Properly:
- Cause: The water tank may not be properly seated or sealed, which can disrupt the flow of water.
- Solution: Ensure the water tank is securely in place and the seal is intact. Check for any cracks or damage to the tank and replace it if necessary.
Low Water Level:
- Cause: If the water tank is nearly empty, the hand vacuum may struggle to spray water effectively.
- Solution: Refill the water tank to the recommended level for your specific hand vacuum model.
Water Pump Isn't Working or Isn't Pumping Water Properly:
- Cause: The pump responsible for spraying water may be clogged, damaged, or malfunctioning.
- Solution: Check the pump for any clogs or damage. Clean or replace the pump as needed. Consult your vacuum's user manual for guidance on accessing and servicing the pump. (Insert link here for vacuum pump)
Water Quality Issues:
- Cause: Hard water with high mineral content can lead to mineral buildup in the spray nozzles and hoses.
- Solution: Use distilled or demineralized water to reduce mineral deposits. Regularly clean the nozzles and hoses to prevent mineral buildup.
Faulty Power Cord or Main Battery:
- Cause: If your hand vacuum is battery-powered, a low battery or inadequate power supply can affect the water spray mechanism.
- Solution: Charge the battery fully or ensure that the power source is providing sufficient voltage to operate the vacuum. Replace the battery if it no longer holds a charge.
Faulty Controls or Settings:
- Cause: Incorrect settings or a malfunctioning control panel can lead to improper water spraying.
- Solution: Review the user manual to make sure you're using the correct settings. If the controls are malfunctioning, contact the manufacturer for repair or replacement.
Leaking Water Lines/Hose:
- Cause: A damaged or loose water line can cause water to leak before reaching the nozzle.
- Solution: Inspect all water lines for damage, loose connections, or kinks. Replace or reattach any problematic lines.
Unclean Filter or Suction Issues:
- Cause: If the hand vacuum's suction is compromised due to a dirty filter or clogs, it may not spray water properly.
- Solution: Clean or replace the filter, and clear any obstructions in the vacuum's airflow path to restore proper suction.
No Power On Device
The vacuum does not stay on or turn on in general
Faulty Outlet:
- Cause Often homes have several outlets on the same breaker, and the breaker can be tripped if multiple appliances are plugged into those outlets.
- Solution Check to see if the outlet is working. You can test this by plugging something small like a cell phone charger or nightlight into the outlet.
Damaged Power Cord:
- Cause: Power cord might be damaged and inoperable due to kinks or nicks
- Solution Check the entire length of the power cord, and discontinue use and replace if there is any damage
Loud/ Excessive Noises
The vacuum sounds abnormal or at a different pitch
Dirty Float in Dirty water tank:
- Cause: when dirty water tank is full, the float inside will activate, and the motor pitch will change
- Solution: Remove dirty water tank by lifting on tank from base of machine. Remove the float from dirty water tank, Rinse the float stack with water to clear any debris and reinsert. If the float is damaged discontinue use and replace.
Vacuum Hose Leak:
- Cause: Normal wear and tear may have damaged the hose creating a hole where vacuum excepts creating load noises.
- Solution: Turn off & unplug machine, remove tool attached to end of hose, turn machine on with tool removed and check for noises.
If noise persists, check the hose for damage and replace.
If no damage is found on the hose, clean out the tool by rinsing it under water or soaking it in warm water.
Poor suction
Vacuum has poor or no suction.
Cracked Vacuum Hose:
- Cause: A cracked vacuum hose can prevent suction from reaching the end of the hose.
- Solution: For a guide to replace the vacuum hose, click here. (insert link to vacuum hose replacement)
Clogged Float Stack:
- Cause: If the filters to your vacuum are clogged, it can prevent airflow from going through the hose.
- Solution: To fix this issue, you need to remove the filter for the dirty water tank and clean out the clog.
Failed vacuum pump:
- Cause: A failed vacuum pump keeps the vacuum from creating suction.
- Solution: To fix this issue, simply follow this guide for vacuum pump replacement. (Insert link to vacuum pump replacement)
Leaking
Water leaking from the vacuum.
Water Tank Isn't Seated or Sealed Properly:
- Cause: Gasket might be torn causing the seal to be compromised.
- Solution: Check black gasket is firmly seated & correctly in place If gasket is not correctly inserted Push gasket into dirty water tank securely clean gasket of all debris. Excess debris can allow water to leak from the tank. Remove dirty water tank. If it is still leaking replace dirty water tank.
Leaking Water Lines:
- Cause: A damaged or loose water line can cause water to leak before reaching the nozzle.
- Solution: Inspect all water lines for damage, loose connections, or kinks. Replace or reattach any problematic lines.
