BlackBerry Curve Won't Turn On
No matter what you do, you can't get your BlackBerry to turn on.
Drained/Bad Battery
If your phone won’t turn on and it has not been used recently, the problem may be a drained battery. Plug your phone into your computer or AC adapter and see if anything happens. The phone should start charging the battery. If the phone no longer charges the battery, you will have to replace the battery.
Bad LCD Screen
It is possible that the LCD Screen is bad if the phone sounds like it’s working. If this is the case then you will have to replace the LCD Screen.
Bad Motherboard
If none of the above solutions fix the phone and the power button does not turn it on, you must replace the motherboard.
The Trackball Does Not Work Well or At All
The trackball does not work the way it used to.
Blow it Out with Canned Air
Before opening the phone, try blowing underneath the trackball with compressed air.
Take the Trackball Out to Clean or Replace
Follow these steps to remove the trackball. When removed, clean the trackball with electronic cleaner.
If cleaning the trackball did not fix the problem, you will need to replace it.
The Keyboard Does Not Work Well or At All
Certain keys on the keyboard may not work.
Blow it Out With Canned Air
Try blowing the keyboard out with some canned air to see if there is anything stuck underneath.
Take the Keyboard Out and Clean
If the above solution does not work, then you must remove the keyboard and clean it. Replacement is necessary if cleaning does not work.
The LCD Screen Has Dead Pixels or is Malfunctioning
The LCD Screen has black spots (dead pixels) on the screen or is not responding.
Check and/or Replace the LCD Screen
If the LCD screen is dirty or damaged, it may need to be cleaned, have its connections checked, or be replaced. See our LCD screen repair guide for instructions.
The Handset Speaker Does Not Work
I can't hear the person on the other end of the phone through the handset speaker.
Make Sure the Speakerphone Is Off
Make sure the speakerphone is off in the device settings.
Replace the Screen Housing
If the above solution does not work, then you must replace the screen housing. The screen housing includes the handset speaker.

Also worth mentioning, sometimes the power button on these breaks and requires ever increasing force to turn on. Eventually it breaks completely which is annoying but usually it is possible to bypass with some clever micro-soldering to an adjacent button or elsewhere on the phone. I once used a magnetic switch on an ancient smartphone as a kludge but replacement of the nickel dome is feasible.
