The Cell Phone Won't Turn On
Your phone will not turn on.
Dead/Worn-Out Battery
It is possible that your phone's battery is out of charge, or is worn out and needs replacing. First, try charging the cell phone. It is a good idea to charge the cell phone on a charger that is known to work (i.e. one that works while charging another phone) so that you can be sure the charger is not the problem. If the phone does not charge, the battery might need to be replaced (see guide here).
Broken Keyboard
It is possible that the power button on the keyboard is non-responsive. Normally, this would happen gradually, and you would be able to notice the button wearing out or responding less over time. If this is not the case, and the phone has not been dropped or damaged in a manner that could affect the keyboard, this is likely not the problem. If the keyboard is the problem, it needs to be replaced (see guide here).
Bad Logic Board
The logic board could be bad, resulting in the phone no longer working. If you have already tested the battery and keyboard, then the remaining option is that the logic board is defunct and needs to be replaced (see guide here)
The Screen is Black
The screen of the cell phone is black, but the phone retains some or most of its functionality for instance, it can still make calls, turn on or off, etc.
Damaged Screen
The screen may be damaged. This is likely if the screen shows physical damage (such as a crack), or it has been operating incorrectly recently. If the screen is damaged, it must be replaced (see guide here).
Bad Logic Board
It is possible that the logic board is affecting the screen. This is likely if the screen has showed no prior problems, and has not been damaged in any way. If this is the case, it must be replaced (see guide here).
The Keyboard is Bad
The keys are sticking, or the keyboard is unresponsive.
Broken Keyboard
If the keyboard is sticky, damaged, missing keys, etc, then it should be replaced (see guide here).
Bad Logic Board
If the keys are in good condition and the keyboard does not show any signs of damage or excessive wear, the logic board could be the problem, in which case it needs to be replaced (see guide here).
Trackball is Bad
The trackball is sticking or is non-responsive.
Faulty Trackball
If the trackball is sticking, damaged, or missing, it needs to be replaced (see guide here).
Bad Logic Board
If the trackball has not shown prior signs of malfunctioning and shows no signs of damage, the logic board could be broken, in which case it needs to be replaced (see guide here).
The Cell Phone Will Not Store Pictures, Text Messages, or Other Data
The phone seems to have a memory problem, and will not store some or any of the data received.
Full Memory
The memory might be full, in which case the phone would not be able to store any other data. Your phone should give you warnings when you are running low on memory, but this can be contingent upon your wireless carrier. To remedy this, delete some of the unwanted or unused data on your phone or external memory. You may want to back up your files, first! If you want more memory, you can install an SD card to expand the capacity (see guide here).
Bad SD Card
If you are unable to save files to the external memory (the SD Card) and the memory is not full, then the SD Card should be replaced (see guide here).
Bad Logic Board
If you are trying to save data to the internal memory of the phone (the default - you would have to change it for it to save elsewhere) and it does not work, but you are certain the memory is not full, the logic board is probably bad, and needs to be replaced (see guide here).
The Cell Phone Will Not Retain Its Charge
The phone will not remain on for an appropriate length of time, and/or the phone will not charge fully or at all.
Worn-Out Battery
The most likely problem is the battery. To test this, the easiest method is to put the battery of your phone into another phone that uses the same battery. If the problems are present on that phone, then it is the fault of the battery, in which case the battery should be replaced (see guide here).
Broken Charger
If the phone does not retain a charge, or if it does not seem to charge fully, the charger could be broken. The easiest manner of testing this is to charge the phone on a different charger (that is still compatible) and see if the phone charges. If the phone does charge on the other charger, then you should simply replace the broken charger.
Bad Logic Board
If the charger and the battery are both fine, then the other option is that the phone's logic board is faulty. In this case, it should be replaced (see guide here).
