Error code E24 means your Bosch or Siemens dishwasher can't drain normally. A clogged filter, blocked impeller, loose pump cover, kinked or blocked waste-water hose, or obstructed siphon connection can trigger the code. Start with the accessible drain components before removing the dishwasher or its panels.
Perform regular dishwasher maintenance to help prevent drain restrictions.
Cancel and Drain the Cycle
Before resetting the dishwasher, record the E24 code in case you need to refer to it later.
On many Bosch dishwashers, press and hold Reset 4 Sec. or Start for approximately four seconds. The dishwasher should pump out the residual water and cancel the cycle. Button names and reset procedures vary by model, so check the owner's manual if these controls aren't present.
- If the dishwasher doesn't drain, continue to the drain-path checks below.
- If it drains but E24 returns during another cycle, continue troubleshooting. A successful reset does not rule out an intermittent blockage, kinked hose, loose pump cover, or another drain-path problem.

Check the Drain Path
Disconnect power before reaching into the sump. Turn off the water supply before disconnecting hoses or pulling out a built-in dishwasher. Wear work gloves because broken glass can hide near the impeller.

- Clean the filter and remove standing water safely.
- Check the impeller and pump cover for debris or poor seating.
- Inspect the waste-water hose for kinks or blockages.
- Check and clean the siphon connection.
- Inspect deeper drain passages if the accessible checks don't restore flow.
