When shooting indoors, the camera screen flickers
LCD screen flickers.
Not enough/Insufficient lighting
If you are shooting indoors with your camera, the camera screen will flicker. A flickering screen on the Canon Powershot G7X is completely normal to see. When the screen flickers the camera is merely adjusting itself to the indoor lighting frequency. If you use your Powershot G7X outside, then the screen should not have any flickering. However, if you are inside then the fluorescent lights indoors is affecting your video/images.

Colored spots appear on camera screen
Strange spots appear on the LCD screen
Strange or "hot" pixels appear on screen
If strange or "hot" pixels show up on your camera screen, you need to do a sensor cleaning (sensor cleaning in this case for hot pixels is just scanning the hot pixels during the cleaning time period which is about 15-30 seconds). First, you must make sure your Canon camera is on a mode above the P, you can then go to the maintenance menu on the camera. By going to your camera’s maintenance menu there will be an option that has sensor cleaning on it, after finding this you will be given the option to clean your camera sensor manually. After clicking this option, you will press OK and it will take about 30 seconds for the cleaning to happen. Once cleaning has taken place turn your camera off. Once this is done you can then check your camera’s screen to make sure the hot/stuck pixels are gone. The video link can be found here:
However if this problem persists after running your camera through a cleaning cycle, you might have a defective lens, or screen.

Not clicking shutter button halfway
To focus your camera, on the main point press down halfway on the shutter button of your camera
Incorrect shooting range
Another issue could be that you are not shooting your photo at the correct camera range, if you wish to check this go to your camera’s menu and go to your camera’s shooting tab which will have the option of turning on your AF assist beam.
Incorrect Camera Settings
Also make sure that any functions you do not need are turned off since this can affect the image you are trying to take.
Incorrect shutter speed
To correct blurriness of photos, adjusting your shutter speed of your Powershot G7X.
Dirty/faulty Lens
Another cause for blurry pictures could be that your camera lens is dirty. To fix something like this you are going to want to clean it very carefully, to start off extend your camera’s lens as far as you can get it to go. Once this is done take the camera’s battery out to ensure that your lens will stay extended. Make sure you have a steady and stable place to put your camera (like a table for example), after finding a steady place get a vacuum cleaner (with an extendable hand-held hose) and carefully suck away the dust particles (try not to touch the camera lens at all and make sure you have a good steady grip on the housing).
If the problem persists the lens might be faulty.
Dirty/faulty camera screen
A dirty camera screen causes blurry pictures. To clean your camera screen, use a clean cloth (like an eyeglass cloth you use on your glasses). The clean cloth does not need any liquid cleaners, so it must remain dry in order for it to work.
If the problem persists the screen might be faulty. Refer to this guide to replace the screen.

Wi-Fi fails to connect my camera and chosen device
Wi-Fi connectivity problem
Faulty wi-fi connection
Make sure the device you wish to connect to the Powershot G7X is connected to wi-fi. The problem could simply be that the device you wish to connect the G7X to might not be connected to wi-fi.
You can connect your G7X and chosen device to your router by going to Access Point mode. Videos on how to connect certain devices can be found at this link:
Router failure
Make sure to check your router (for your wi-fi) just in case to make sure everything is setup and running correctly. If there is a problem with your router, it might be that service has been interrupted or the router might need to be restarted. This can be done by clicking the reset button the back of the router. Or by simply unplugging and plugging the router back in after approximately 30 sec.
My camera will not turn on at all
Camera won't turn on
Incorrect battery insertion
If the battery was inserted incorrectly the camera will not turn on. Check your battery and make sure it is inserted correctly. (While checking your battery placement make sure the terminals are clean)
Dirty terminals
If your battery is placed correctly then the terminals of the battery may be the issue. Check the terminals in the camera and make sure they are free of any dust or residue.
Opened compartment door
IF the battery compartment door is open, the camera will not turn on. Check that the battery compartment door is shut.
Incorrect charging process
Besides just the battery, it may be the charging process causing the issue. For example, if the battery is not inserted correctly, it will not charge. It is also possible for the charger to be plugged in incorrectly to an outlet, so if this is the case, find another outlet just to test and see if that may be the issue.
Dead battery
If the problem is not one of the previous stated issues, then it could be that your Canon battery is dead.
