Device Doesn't Turn On
Your Capresso Infinity does not show any sign of powering on.
Bean Container Isn't Locked
Align the black dot on the top bean container with the preferred coarseness of your coffee beans located on the grinder. This should also lock the bean container into the grinder when the black dot is on the preferred setting. Ensure that the bean container is properly secured and is not loose on top of the burr grinder. Once secure, the machine should turn on and grind the coffee beans when the dial is turned.
Faulty Motor
If your Capresso Infinity is plugged in and the dial is functioning properly, there is a chance that the motor is faulty or broken. Please follow this guide to replace the motor. (Insert future guide hyperlink)
Timer-On Switch
If the timer/ on-switch will not turn on the grinder, there could be a few issues. The first is that there could be a loose wire on the inside of mechanism that prevents the dial from igniting the machine. The second is that physical dial might have become dislodged from your Capresso Infinity. Please refer to our guide (insert future guide hyperlink) on how to replace the Timer On-Switch.
Power Cord Plugged In
Make sure that the coffee grinder is plugged in to an outlet in order to function. The power cord is located under the grinder and can stretch comfortably up to 2 ½ feet.
Faulty Power Cord
If the coffee grinder is plugged in and the dial is working properly, there might be a chance that the power cord needs to be replaced. If there has been recent tugging on the power cord or wires in the cable have come loose, this could be a reason why the machine is not working and the cord needs to be replaced. Follow this guide on how to replace the power cord. (Insert future guide hyperlink)
Grounds Not Collected
Coffee is not being dispersed into the collection container.
Blocked Collection Shoot
If you notice that coffee grounds are not going into your plastic collection container, make sure that the collection shoot isn’t blocked. Clean the collection shoot with any sort of small brush or q-tip to make sure the coffee has room to travel down to the collection container.
Grinders Won’t Grind
The top and bottom conical burr are not moving, therefore not grinding coffee.
Power Off
If the Capresso Infinity isn’t on, the grinders will not work. Make sure your device is plugged in. If it is, but still isn’t working, refer to the section of this page on what to do if they device isn’t turning on.
Top Conical Burr Placed Correctly
Check to make sure that you haven’t placed the top conical burr upside down. The top conical burr needs to be placed flat side down. Of you find that it’s flat side up, flip the grinder over and then place it back into the device.
Grinder in Right Position
The grinder will only work when it is placed at the 2:00 o’clock position. Make sure that the slot that is on the black casing that surrounds the grinder is at the 2:00 o’clock position.
Motor Isn’t Working
If your device’s motor isn’t working, then it will not turn on. If the device won’t turn on, then it cannot grind coffee. If you think your motor is defective, check our replacement guide to replace it yourself.
Bean Container Isn’t Locked
If the top bean container isn’t locked into place correctly, the grinders won’t work. The black dot on the bean container needs to be lined up with a desired coarseness level. Turn the container counterclockwise to lock it into place, you’ll know it’s locked when you can’t pull it straight up off of the device.
Compacted Coffee
If the coffee grinds become compacted in the grinding chamber, the conical burrs will not move. This is the same if a coffee bean is stuck. Check to see if any coffee is stuck in the grinding chamber, bottom conical burr, or top conical burr. If you find that grounds or beans are compacted, gently clean wherever they’re stuck.
Coarseness Level Inadequate
The coffee is not grinding to the desired level of coarseness.
Top Bean Container Placement
The top bean container may have not been placed correctly into the machine. If the container is not correctly placed it may not grind the coffee to the desired setting. Make sure that the container is placed correctly into the top and is snapped into the correct setting.
Burr Needs To Be Cleaned
The conical burr itself might need to be cleaned. If it seems like there is a lot of leftover coffee grinds in the burr, brush it off using the small brush provided, or a q-tip. Make sure that you take the top part of the two part burr off to make sure the bottom part is cleaned as well.
Burr Needs To Be Replaced
The burr may have gotten damaged over time or may have been damaged from the factory. Check the burrs edges and make sure there are no chips or missing parts, if there are any chips or missing pieces a new burr will be needed.
Too Many Beans
There may be too many beans in the top bean container itself. When there are too many coffee beans in the container the beans may get compacted in the burr keeping it from grinding to the desired coarseness. Make sure you are able to completely close the lid on the bean container.
Coffee Taste
Whenever the coffee has been brewed, it doesn’t taste how it should.
Coffee Storage
If you are keeping your beans in the bean container on top of the grinder, this causes the coffee beans to become stale at a faster rate. Consider storing your beans in a sealed container and only put in the desired amount of beans into the grinder for fresh tasting coffee.
Pre-Ground Coffee
If you grind your coffee beans days in advance, the coffee begins to lose flavor and aroma several hours after grinding. Therefore, your coffee has become stale and is the reason why it doesn’t taste right. Try to grind your beans right before you brew coffee to ensure the maximum freshness. Also, clean the ground coffee container after each use to prevent stale coffee from mixing with fresh coffee for an odd taste.
Grind Setting
Perhaps your coffee doesn’t taste right due to the current grind setting. The idea behind grinding coffee beans is to produce a larger surface area for hot water to extract the flavor from the beans. Try grinding your coffee beans at a different coarseness for varied results while brewing.

I have a grinder in a humi environment but when I pull the cup out of the grinder coffee sprays all over the counter. I have another grinder in a very dry climate and it works fine. I have it on the least fine setting. What is causing this?

how do you remove and replace the upper burr on the infinity capresso.?
gt76us - Yanıt
the upper burr carrier (white colored plastic) holds the upper steel burr by clips. i can’t find one but they cost very little for the baratze conical grinders., so i expect if jura-cappresso sells them to owners of infinity grinder they should be around 4 bucks,( the same price as the baratza carrier.

I removed the burr grinder. when I replaced it the coffee is always very fine…
Is there something I could have put back incorrectly?
Gerald Gerry Glaser - Yanıt
@Gerald Gerry Glaser, I’m having the exact issue. I believe it has something to do with the way the springs/steel balls are installed and I can’t find any guidance on how to correctly reinstall them. Very frustrating!
