Home and Multitasking Buttons Don’t Appear

The tablet’s home, back or multitasking buttons are unresponsive or do not appear.

Frozen Display

If the home and multitasking buttons appear but do not function, your device’s display is frozen. Turn off the device while holding down the power button; this puts the device in deep sleep. After 30 seconds, restart the device. If that does not work, use the reset button on the back of the FunTab 3.

Multitasking Buttons Need to be Reformatted

If the home and multitasking buttons don’t appear, go to settings, from settings select Repair & Formatting, from Repair & Formatting select Startup Wizard and follow the prompts. The home, back, and multitasking buttons on your device should return.

Faulty Software

If after completing the above steps the home and multitasking buttons still do not appear, then your device’s software may be defective. To solve this, you can either replace the motherboard or contact the company for replacement software.

Volume Won’t Change

The tablet will not increase or decrease volume when using the volume buttons.

Volume Button Covers are Loose

When pressing the volume buttons, your FunTab 3 does not display any animation which indicates the volume has been increased or decreased, then the plastic cover of the volume buttons has detached from the device. In this case, remove the back cover of the device to reveal the battery and motherboard. Then reattach the white plastic volume cover.

Damaged Volume Buttons

When pressing the volume buttons, your FunTab 3 does not display any animation which indicates the volume has been increased or decreased, then the volume buttons’ connection to the motherboard may have been damaged, or they may have detached completely. Remove the back of FunTab 3, revealing the motherboard, and reposition the button. If this does not solve the problem, continue to Faulty Motherboard.

Faulty Motherboard

When pressing the volume buttons, your FunTab 3 does not display any animation, and both volume buttons are correctly connected with the motherboard, then a motherboard replacement will likely be required. Use the Motherboard Replacement Guide for the tablet.

Faulty Speaker

When pressing the volume buttons, your FunTab 3 does display the animation which indicates the volume has been changed, but the volume emitted does not change or has no sound at all, then the speaker is flawed or misaligned. A speaker replacement will likely be required. Use the Speaker Replacement Guide.

Tablet Will Not Power On

The tablet’s screen remains blank after pressing the power button.

Defective Power Adapter

Verify that the power adapter is correctly plugged in, and that the charge indicator is on. If the indicator is not on, and the adapter is plugged in, then the adapter is defective. You will need a new power adapter.

Defective Battery

Verify that the power adapter is correctly plugged in, and that the charge indicator is on. If the tablet only powers on when the adapter is plugged in, then the battery is defective. See the Battery Replacement Guide for the tablet.

Defective Screen

Verify that the power adapter is correctly plugged in and the charge indicator is on. If the screen is blank after powering on, then the screen is flawed. You will need to replace the screen, use the Touch Screen Replacement Guide for the tablet.

Device Won’t Hold a Charge

The tablet’s battery dies after a short duration.

Defective Battery

Charging too often, or allowing the battery to discharge fully too often, and using the wrong charger can cause shortened battery life. Use the Battery Replacement Guide if this is the problem.

Charger is Faulty or Incorrect for Device

A faulty or incorrect charger can cause a false full charge reading. Ensure the charger is not damaged and is the correct charger for the device. If the charger is not correct, contact the company for a replacement. If this does not solve the issue, use the Battery Replacement Guide.

Faulty Charging Port

Charging ports may be physically damaged by the use of an incorrect charger, water, normal wear and tear, or anything that could have caused physical damage to the port. Use the Motherboard Replacement Guide if this is the problem.

Charging Port Does Not Work or is Missing

The charging port is not functioning correctly or has broken loose in some way.

Damaged Charging Port

Dropping, or using an incorrect charger can damage the charging port. If you are using the correct charger and the device is not charging, your charging port has been damaged. You may quickly fix this by using pliers and applying gentle pressure on the end of the USB charging cable. This action will flatten out the end of the cable and help it make a working connection with your tablet again.

Charging Port Has Detached From Motherboard

If the charging port has detached from the motherboard the soldering connections are no longer holding the charging port in place. The port must be re-soldered inside the tablet. You should refer to the Soldering Guide and Motherboard Replacement Guide on iFixit.
