HTC MyTouch 4G Troubleshooting

You can not get your phone to begin charging.

Try a different outlet around your house to see if the phone will charge and that the outlet is not faulty.

Check to see if the battery is loose by taking the battery out and putting it back in by following the HTC MyTouch 4G Battery Replacement Guide. Unplug the charger and plug it back in as well to make sure connection is made.

Inspect the charger and make sure that there is no damage that has been caused to the charger. If there is no damage, try cleaning debris from the charger and plugging it back in to see if it will work.

Your phone is no longer turning on.

If there are no other reasons for the phone not turning on, simply press and hold on to the power button. After holding for 10 seconds or longer, the phone might turn on.

Check to see if it is possible to charge your battery. Wait over two minutes before trying to turn your phone on again to see if the battery was just completely drained. If it does hold a charge, charge it fully and turn it back on.

If you were not able to get the phone to start a charge after two minutes, the outlet may not be working. Try a different outlet around your house to see if the phone will charge.

The sound of your phone has stopped working or is static.

Go into the settings of your phone and make sure that the volume is turned on and not set to mute.

Try restarting your phone to see if that will fix the sound not working.

Have you recently downloaded any apps that could be interfering with the sound on your phone? If you have, try deleting the application to fix the problem.

The phone turns on and makes the initial booting sounds, however your screen is still black.

The buttons of your keypad are not responding.

After checking the settings, try restarting your phone to see if that will fix the keypad not working.
