Hoverboard Has a Faulty Motherboard
If the connections are all secure, then the problem may be the motherboard. The red indicator light on the top of the hoverboard will flash once to denote this error. Please view Hover-1 Liberty Gyroscope Sensor Boards Replacement.
Hoverboard Has Something Blocking Magnets in the Wheels
If connections are all secure, then make sure to check the wheel interior for debris. To do this you will need to remove the magnetic turbine from the wheel. The red indicator light on the top of the hoverboard will flash 5 times to denote the wheel on the battery side is the issue or 4 times for the wheel on the mainboard side. Please view Hover-1 Liberty Wheel Motor Replacement.
Hoverboard Will Not Power On
The hoverboard shows no signs of powering up when the power button is pressed.
Hoverboard Not Charged
Make sure the board is charged. If the board has been charging for a long time but still wont power on. There may be an issue with the charger, or charging circuit. Please view the Hoverboard Will Not Charge or Hold a Charge section.
Loose Power Button Cable
Check that the power button cable is completely connected to motherboard. Remove the cover. Please view Hover-1 Liberty Bottom Cover Replacement. Then check that the wires connecting the power button are in good condition and connected to the motherboard.
Loose Battery Connection
With the external cover removed, check the the two large wires connecting the battery to the motherboard are in good condition and don’t have debris inside the connector.
Faulty Motherboard
If the hoverboard will still not power on, and the condition of the power connections is good. The motherboard may not be supplying power to the hoverboard. A red indicator light on the top of the hoverboard will flash once to denote this error. Please view Hover-1 Liberty Gyroscope Sensor Boards Replacement.
Hoverboard Will Not Hold a Charge
The hoverboard shows no sign of charging
Battery level codes:
GREEN: over 20%
YELLOW: under 20%
RED: under 10%
Faulty Charger
Plug the charger into the wall and disconnect the charger from the board. The charger light should be bright green. If there is no light, make sure the charger adapter is completely inserted into the charger brick. If the light stays off, consider purchasing a replacement charger.

I found a site where it references light stats on on one side and does not power down. It stated that that side with the light on has a bad gyroscope that controls that side. It said it can’t be fixed and needs replaced. In my case, I’m returning tomorrow for another one and try our luck with that.
