Projector is Turned On, But Turns Off Immediately

The projector turns off immediately after it is turned on.

Faulty Power Cable

Check if the power supply cable is in working condition. If noticeable wire wear and cuts are present in the power supply cable then getting a new cable might fix the issue. In addition, check all other cables connected to the projector for such wire deterioration. Next, check that all wires are properly connected to their corresponding ports.

Dust

If the problem persists check if the projector has accumulated lots of dust. If so, service the projector and get as much dust out as possible. Remove dust from the projector vents and filters. In addition, remove the lamp and clean the surrounding area and lamp screens.

Faulty Main Board

If none of these steps work, you may need to replace your main board.

Distorted Image

The image is not displayed properly.

Unsecured or Faulty Wire

First, check if all the wires are properly connected and secure. Securing a wire means that the wire is locked in place allowing the minimum amount of movement. Make sure it is completely connected to the projector and source ports. After that, check to see if the wire is the issue by using a different video wire. If the screen still remains distorted, press MENU on the remote or projector keypad. If the MENU screen continues to appear distorted proceed to disconnecting all video cable wires.

Factory Reset

If the InFocus Logo appears distorted, perform a factory reset on the projector menu. To perform a factory reset go to main menu, select settings, highlight service, and choose Factory Reset.

Bad Environment

If factory reset does not resolve the screen clarity, place the projector in a different room or environment so as to make sure that the surroundings are not causing the problem.

Bad Image Source

If the previous steps have not worked, try connecting a different image source to the projector. If all the above have not fixed the issue the problem could be rooted in the main board.

Projector is Overheating

The projector is very hot or is making a loud noise.

Restricted Air Flow

The first step would be to check if the projector air vents are being blocked or restricted by surroundings. It is important not to limit the airflow into the projector; a free air flow is needed to cool down the projector. If the projector continues to overheat, place the projector in an environment that has fresh clean air. Also, if the projector is under direct sunlight or near a hot environment, this could cause the projector to overheat.

Faulty Fan

If the projector is not making any noise and is overheating, this means that the fan is not functioning properly. Check to see if the fan is jammed or stuck. Remove anything that could be blocking it and try running the device again. If the device still overheats after this, the fan may need to be replaced.

No Image is Displayed

The projector is not displaying any image on the projection screen.

Cable Connection

Check to see if the power cable is connected properly to the electrical outlet and projector. If the projector is plugged in to a power strip, make sure that it is on and functions properly. Also, check to make sure that the power cables and visual cables do not have any bent pins.

Lamp Unsecured

The lamp appears to be loose or out of place.

Faulty or Loose Lamp

The projector lamp could be unsecured and unable to produce any light for the projector. Adjust the lamp's positioning. If it is still faulty, the lamp most likely needs to be replaced.

No Sound is Heard

No sound can be heard from the projector.

Cable Connection

The most important thing is to make sure that the audio cable is connected.

Volume Control

It may also be that the mute button is activated, or the volume is not turned on to an adequate level.

Audio Source or Video Playback

If there is still no sound, then make sure to adjust the audio source. Also, if a video is playing, you must make sure that the playback was not paused. If no sound is still heard, you may need to replace the speakers.
