Phone Not Charging / Charging Slowly

My phone doesn't charge or charges slowly when plugged in.

Too Many Open Background Apps

If you notice your phone is charging slower than usual, it could be due to apps that are running in the background while your phone is charging. Close these background apps to help in speeding up performance.

Faulty Power Source

If closing running apps doesn't improve performance, your power source could be the issue here. Often while a power supply works for other things it might not be the right fit for your mobile charger. Try charging your phone in other sockets.

Device Needs A Soft Reset

A soft reset does not erase any of your data. Simply turn off your phone and remove the battery. Leave for a few minutes, then place the battery back and restart your phone. Plug your phone back into the charger and see if it is charging.

Faulty Charging Port

Blocked USB Port

A buildup of debris inside the USB port may be keeping the charger from properly connecting to your phone. Check inside of the USB port. If you see some buildup of debris, simply blow some air into the port to blow out the debris. If some debris remains, carefully insert a small toothpick and manually pick the debris out.

Distorted USB Port

If your phone still does not charge after removing debris, if any, the problem may be that the metallic surfaces inside the USB port and the charger are not making good contact, either through a manufacturing defect or because of the continual plugging and unplugging of the charging cable. Shut down your device, remove the battery if possible (see the LG Stylo 3 Plus Battery Replacement Guide on how to remove the battery of your device )and use something small, such as a toothpick, to straighten the little tab inside the USB port on your phone. Do so very carefully and gently, then reinsert your battery and plug it in again.

Faulty Phone Charger

Damaged Charging Cable

A worn cable could be the cause. Using another cable should give you an idea if the problem is with your charging cable. If your device charges, then the problem was with your cable.

Faulty Charge Adapter

If the cable is not the problem then it could be the adapter that you plug into the electric socket. Especially if you have a charger where the cable and the adapter are separate. Try using the adapter and cable on some other device. If the other device does not charge, replace the charger adapter.

Faulty Battery

If you established that the charger and the cable are fine because it is charging other devices without problems, the issue could be with the phone. Your phone's battery may not be holding onto a charge and you may need to replace the battery. See LG Stylo 3 Plus Battery Replacement Guide for instructions on how to replace your battery.

Phone Performance is Slow

My phone works slowly and/or keeps freezing when I'm using it.

Overloaded Cache

Simply restart your phone. This can clear out the cache and stop unnecessary tasks from running.

Low Memory

If your phone still runs slowly after restarting it, the problem could be due to its low internal memory. Closing any apps that are running in the background, uninstalling unused apps, disabling WiFi and Bluetooth when not in use, or removing live wallpapers can help in improving your phone's performance.

Phone Is Not Up To Date

Check if your phone is running the latest software, and if not, update. Software updates are not always about new features, most of the time they also contain bug-fixes and performance enhancements that can significantly speed up your phone's operation.

Multiple/Unknown Causes

As a last measure, you may need to reset your phone to the condition the manufacturer shipped it in, which can remove problems that may be clogging up performance. Be sure to backup your data before resetting.

Phone's Home Button Is Not Responding

My phone's home button doesn't respond when I press it.

Software Malfunction

Your home button may not be working due to a software problem such as software getting corrupted or process crash. Try soft resetting your phone by switching it off, removing the battery and SD card and putting them back after a few minutes. If the home button still does not respond, install a virtual home button app from Google Play Store or factory reset your phone.

Hardware Malfunction

Your home button may not be working due to a hardware problem caused by general wear and tear or some connection between the button and motherboard was damaged. You may have to bring your phone in for a repair. Meanwhile, install a virtual home button app from Google Play Store.

WiFi is Disabled

If WiFi is disabled, your phone will not be able to connect to any wireless networks. Check to see if your WiFi is disabled and enable it in WiFi under Network Connections in Settings.

If you are trying to use your mobile data, your mobile data may be disabled and your phone will not be able to connect to the internet, To turn on mobile data, simply go to Network Connections in your phone's Settings.

Data Used Up

If you have limited data with your phone plan, internet connection will cease or slow down once you reach that limit. Check to see if mobile data limit has been reached in Data Usage in Settings.

Phone Connected To Network Incorrectly

Your internet may not be connecting properly. Go to your phone's internet settings and disconnect from your current network by tapping Forget. Then reconnect to the network and reenter the network's password.

Bluetooth May Be Interfering

Bluetooth uses the same frequency as WiFi so the signal could interfere with the connection. Turn off Bluetooth if possible.

Internet Chip Turned Off

Sometimes your phone's internet chip will turn off when it's not supposed to. Your phone not connecting to the internet may just require a simple restart of your phone.

Software Out of Date

If your software is not up to date, your phone may not be able to connect to the internet. Check to make sure you are up to date with the latest software and update if needed.

Phone Won't Download/Install Applications

My phone won't download or install apps from the Play Store.

Phone Doesn't Meet App Prerequisites

Check to make sure the phone fulfills the prerequisites for downloading the app such as software specifications.

Not Enough Internal Storage

You may not be able to download applications if you're phone's storage is full or almost full. Uninstall apps you don't use often and backup any data (pictures, music, downloads, etc) from internal storage to an SD card or to the cloud such as Google Drive before removing from your phone. Re-open the Play Store and try your download again.

Incorrect Sign in to Google Play

If an application is not downloading or installing there could be a failure in the sign in of Google Play. Simply sign out and sign back in to reset the Google Play Store.

Google Play Data is Full

If you have sufficient storage and you are still not able to download apps, you may need to clear the cache and data of the Play Store. Go to Settings --> Applications and locate the Google Play app. Click on the icon and clear Play Store data. Re-open the Play Store and try your download again.

Google Play App Malfunctioning

If you still can’t download after you clear the cache and data of the Play Store, restart your device. Once your device is on again, restart the Play Store and try your download again.

Software Out of Date

If your software is not up to date, your phone may not be able to download certain apps. Check to make sure you are up to date with the latest software and update if needed.
