Device Won’t Turn On
The device does not turn on when the power button is pressed.
Battery Needs Charge
Plug the charging cable into the laptop and try to power it on. If the device turns on, unplug the charger to test the battery. If the laptop immediately turns off you may have a faulty battery. Follow battery replacement guide to repair.
Charger Not Working
First, plug the charging cable into the laptop and check to see if charging light comes on. If you don't see a light on the laptop, you may have a faulty charger.
Bad Power Button
If you press the power button and you don't get any response from the laptop, this could mean that you have a faulty power button.
Audio Distortion
You are having trouble hearing audio on your computer.
Loose Headphone Jack
If audio is distorted while listening through headphones, then the audio jack may be faulty. Make sure audio jack is inserted completely into the computer.
Faulty Audio Driver
If the audio is distorted while listening through the computer speakers, then you may have a faulty audio driver. Try updating or reinstalling your audio driver. Then restart your computer.
Key/Keyboard Not Responding
Some or all of the keys on the keyboard aren’t responding.
Dirt/Debris on Keyboard
If the keyboard is not responding, there may be something lodged under the keys. Use compressed air to clean out underneath.
Driver Issue
If your keyboard is still not working, then you may have a faulty driver. Update or reinstall your keyboard driver. Then restart your computer.
Keyboard Broken
If you have tried these all steps and there is no improvement, then your keyboard maybe broken. Follow the keyboard replacement guide to repair.
No Screen Display
The power light is on, but the screen remains dark after moving the mouse or touching the keyboard.
Backlight is Off
Press and hold the Fn key. Press the F2 key. Release the Fn key. If the image returns then the screen’s backlight was off. This key combination can be used to turn it on and off.
The Operating System has Become Unresponsive
Do a hard shutdown by holding down the power button until the power light turns off. Press the power button again to restart.
Memory Card is Loose
Make sure the computer is off. Unplug and remove battery. Remove and reinstall both memory cards.
Screen is Damaged
If the screen has lines or portions of display are missing, your screen may be damaged. Try connecting a TV or monitor to the HDMI port on the left side. If you can get an image on a secondary display, and not on the primary display, the primary display may be damaged and needs to be replaced.
Device Overheating
While using your computer, it may become very hot and lag or even shutdown.
Fans and Vents Are Clogged
Air may not be circulating well due to dust or other debris in fans and vents. Remove battery and open case. Use compressed air to blow out blockage. If device still overheating, use this guide to replace or clean out fan more throughly.
