Computer will not stay powered on
The laptop will not respond or show any sign of powering up
It is possible the computer is not turned on. Other causes could be that the cables are not connected properly or they are damaged. Ensure that all cables are undamaged by checking the ends, and then make sure they plugged into their respective outlets
Faulty power adapter
If there is not any light illuminating from the power adapter, it could be faulty or not plugged in correctly.
Faulty Battery
If charging light is illuminated and the computer still will not power on, or will not keep a charge, consider replacing the battery.
Computer constantly overheating
Exhaust port is blocked
If air is not blowing from the exhaust port, it may be blocked by dust or other foreign contaminants that have gotten into the computer.
Faulty cooling fan
If your computer is overheating but the fan does not turn on to cool it off it may need to be replaced.
Computer will not boot up/blue error screen
Restart the computer
If error screen is displayed or the computer is not properly booting up it may just need to be restarted. To do so, hold down the power button for approximately 25 seconds, or until the computer completely shuts off. Wait one minute and turn the computer back on.
Hard Drive
If error screens display often, you frequently lose files, the computer does not properly boot up, or the computer makes clicking noises while running you may want to consider replacing the computer's hard drive.
Media discs are not reading
Restart the computer
If error screen is displayed or the computer is not properly booting up it may just need to be restarted. To do so, hold down the power button for approximately 25 seconds, or until the computer completely shuts off. Wait one minute and turn the computer back on.
Check disc itself
If the computer cannot read a disc it is possible that the disk is broken or damaged. Check the media disc to ensure there are no scratches that could cause the optical drive to not be able to read it. If possible, try another disc to ensure that the optical drive itself is functioning.
Clean optical drive
Over time it is possible for the optical drive to have dust collected on the scanner and unable to read media discs. Hence, the optical drive may just need to be cleaned. Take a microfiber cloth/rag and lightly wipe the scanner’s lens and try again.
Faulty optical drive
If the optical drive consistently fails to read discs, and it has already been cleaned, it may need to be replaced.
Screen not working/flickering
Low voltage
If the screen is flickering or completely dark it may be due to lack of power from battery, try to turning the device off and let it fully charge before powering on again.
Screen Malfunction
If the screen will not display an image or it is flickering, it is possible that your screen may need to be replaced.
