If your Lenovo Thinkpad T430 will not power on after pressing the power button, follow this troubleshooting guide.
Battery is Drained
A device without sufficient battery will not start. Using the power cord provided with your device, connect the cord to a viable outlet and attempt to charge the computer, making sure that the device is connected to the power cord and no debris is obstructing the connection between the two. Hold down the power button while making sure the cord is deeply rooted into the device.
Power Cord is Disconnected
Make sure that the power cord is fully connected to the power brick and there is no debris obstructing the connection before attempting to charge the device again. Check that you are using the correct AC adapter for this computer. You will find the right cable in the user’s manual, the cable needed is the 20v 4.5A power supply.
Battery is Not Installed Correctly
If your computer still will not start, then you should take out the battery pack. The guide for removing and replacing the battery pack is on the homepage for the device.
Device Requires a Hard Reset
Unplug the device power cord from any external power. While the device power cord remains unplugged, hold down the computer’s power button for 15 seconds to completely drain its power. Once both the power cord and device have been drained of residual power, attempt to charge the device again.
