If your Logitech G213 Prodigy is not responding to keystrokes, follow this troubleshooting guide.
Debris Build-up
- A simple problem might be the build-up of debris underneath the keys. Over the years, with low maintenance, debris can build up underneath the keys on your keyboard and cause them to get stuck. There are two ways to fix this problem.
- By going to a local Walmart or Best Buy, you can find compressed air cans commonly used to blow out debris. Do this by tilting the keyboard and pointing the can nozzle between keys until fully cleared.
- Remove keys individually, clean out the main board from any debris with a lightly damped paper towel or compressed air can, and then clean each key before putting them back in place.
- The best way to avoid this is to reduce eating around your device and maintain a more frequent cleaning schedule for the keyboard.
Sticky Keys
- Similar to debris build-up, sticky keys are normally caused by liquids building up in between keys due to spills. This causes them to either stick to the board and not be able to pop back up after being pressed or keep them from being pressed down altogether.
- Remove keys individually. Clean each key and the keyboard with a disinfecting wipe. Let everything dry completely before putting it back together.
- Avoid this by reducing the amount of liquids near or around the keyboard so there is less spillage.
Connection Issue
- A more common issue than not when keys are not responding is a connection issue with the device the keyboard is connected to.
- Make sure all cords are connected/plugged in completely to the device that the keyboard is connected to. Simply remove the cord from plug in then reconnect, fully pushing the cord into the port.
Damaged USB Cord
- Similar to a connection issue with the cord not being fully plugged in, a damaged cord altogether will keep the keyboard from working.
- Check USB cord for any damage. Replace it with a new cord.
Incorrect Device Settings
- It is important to make sure that the device the keyboard is connected to is compatible for use.
- Go to device settings to allow any permissions the keyboard needs in order to be used by the device.
