Complete Loss of Power
The device will not respond or show any signs of powering up.
Device is not Plugged in
- Push the AC power cable into the power cable holder, then push the female end of the power cable into the back of the ventilator and the male end into the power outlet. If it is charging the AC power light in the top left corner of the ventilator illuminates. If it does not illuminate the power cable is faulty.
Battery is Dead
- Charge the internal battery by connecting the device to AC power (see if the device is not plugged in). The “internal battery” indicator will flash while charging and then will turn off when the battery is fully charged.
- If the battery does not charge, see [geçersiz kılavuz bağlantısı]
Patient is Having Trouble Exhaling Through the Device
Obstruction or Abnormal Damage of Exhalation Block
The Exhalation Block Needs to be Cleaned or Replaced
- Check the exhalation valve restart vent. The exhalation valve is on the lower right-hand side on the front of the ventilator, above the proximal tubing.
- If the exhalation block needs to be cleaned or replaced, contact qualified personnel.
The Alarm Condition is False
The device is giving alarms for conditions not happening.
The Alarm Needs to be Reset
- The alarm priority indicator must be manually reset
- Press the indicator key
- See [geçersiz kılavuz bağlantısı]
The Device Does Not Work When Unplugged
There is no battery in the device, so when it is unplugged it does not function.
Empty Battery
- Connect the device to an AC power unit
- If it fails to charge see battery replacement guide
No Connection of the Proximal Pressure Tube When Ventilation Starts
The proximal pressure line is disconnected or obstructive.
Pressure Line Needs to be Checked
- Check pressure line for obstruction
Components of the Proximal Pressure Tube are Damaged
- Contact a qualified technician to replace the tube
Proximal Pressure Tube Needs to be Reconnected
- See page 67 Section 4.4.2 (Installing the Patient Circuit) Item 7 of the iFixit Puritan Bennett 540 User Manual for instructions on how to reconnect the proximal pressure tube.
Ventilator is Overheating and Experiencing Loss of Performance
The longevity of the ventilator is compromised.
Air Inlet Filter Needs to be Regularly Checked
- If the ventilator is being operated in an outdoor facility check air inlet filter weekly.
- If the ventilator is being operated indoors, check the air inlet filter monthly.
- If the ventilator is attached to a wheelchair, check the air inlet filter more than the recommended amount.
- Note: When checking the air inlet filter, you should see visible dust or dirt in the filter. When this occurs, replace the air inlet filter.
Air Inlet Filter Needs to be Replaced
- When conducting the routine air inlet filter checks and there is visible dust or dirt present, the air inlet filter needs to be replaced.
- See our [geçersiz kılavuz bağlantısı].
