If your Simple Way Pet Grooming Vacuum V10 XWLMQ01 is not picking up fur, or it is spitting out fur instead of sending it to the dust bin, follow this troubleshooting guide for possible solutions.
Full Dust Bin
If the dust bin has reached capacity, the vacuum may spit fur instead of sending it to the dust bin.
- To release the dust bin from the base, press the gray oval button that has a triangle on it. Then tilt the bin back and lift.
- To empty the dustbin, make sure you are over a trash bin, press the gray button without your hand compressing the bottom so the base can freely fall and dump the content of the vacuum. Then check to make sure that the filter in the dust bin is not clogged.
Blocked Filter
Suction may reduce if the filter within the vacuum is clogged up with debris, such as hair or dust. This might be the cause if the vacuum is noticeably weaker than normal, or if it sounds strained when running.
- To remove the foam filter, press the gray button on the top to release the dust bin. The filter looks like a black foam disk.
- Hold the filter over a trash bin and remove any large debris from the filter, such as hair or dust bunnies.
- If the foam filter feels particularly dusty and caked in finer debris, rinse in cold water until a majority of the debris is removed. Be sure the filter is entirely dry before placing it back into the vacuum.
- Place the filter back into the vacuum.
If suction is still reduced after cleaning the black foam filters, it may be an issue with the HYPA filter, which is a circular plastic construction with a white cloth filter. Check to see if the HYPA filter is too dirty. If it is, you may need to replace it, check the guide entitled “HYPA Filter” for a step-by-step walkthrough.
Blockage in Airway
If suction does not return after emptying the bin and or replacing the filters the next most common reason for the weak suction is the vacuum airway.
Nozzle of Vacuum:
- Detach Flat Suction Nozzle from Conductive Hose. Inspect for Blockage inside the hole of the nozzle.
Hose of Vacuum:
- Detach Conductive Hose from the Main Engine Vacuum Cleaner and inspect for blockage on both sides of the nozzle.
Slot of Vacuum Cleaner:
- With the Conductive Hose and Flat Suction Nozzle detached from the Vacuum Cleaner. Inspect the slot in which you would connect the Conductive Hose to the Vacuum Cleaner for any blockage.
Damaged Hose
- If your hose has holes, splits, or tears, it will mitigate the suction power. If it makes hissing or squealing noises, it needs to be replaced. Our guide, “Suction Hose,” provides a step-by-step walkthrough on how to replace it.
Faulty Suction Motor
- If the airways, filters, and attachments are clean and free of obstruction, then the suction motor is likely failing. Our guide, “Motor Assembly,” provides a step-by-step walkthrough on how to replace it.
