If your Zelotes C-18 does not have a response when the optical sensor is being used, use this troubleshooting guide to help diagnose why.
Damaged Buttons
If you are noticing issues with your buttons, they may have something blocking the sensor that detects a press. This can be fixed by using a can of compressed air under the buttons. If that doesn’t work, the part of the buttons that trigger the sensor may be damaged and will need to be replaced.
Mouse Sensor Not Reading
If your sensor isn't working, it might be the surface you are using it on, like reflective surfaces might confuse the sensor, so try using a mousepad or a non-reflective surface. If you feel the sensor is not reading the way you’d like, look into your device settings and adjust the mouse to read quicker or slower.
Laser Obstructions
Another reason your optical sensor is not reacting is that the laser could be blocked. This issue could be resolved by ensuring there is no fuzz, dust, or lint blocking the opening at the bottom of the mouse where the laser is found.
This can be done by using a damped cotton swab with rubbing alcohol or water and gently cleaning the top and sides of the laser. Lastly, ensure it is completely dry by going over the same area with a dry cotton swab.
Loose or Damaged Cable
This mouse is wired, which could cause connection issues. First, double check that your connector cable is properly connected to the computer. If there is still an issue, try connecting to a different USB port to find out if the issue could be the port or the cable itself.
Faulty Joystick
A likely reason your joystick might not be reacting is that it could be stuck or blocked. You should check for any dust or clutter around the joystick. Then you should use a cotton swab lightly dampened with rubbing alcohol to clean it. After that, move the joystick in every direction to make sure it isn't jammed and that it returns smoothly to the center.
