Alcatel One Touch Idol 3: Why does phone gong instead of ring?

I have an Alcatel One Touch Idol 3. Occasionally, instead of ringing like it should (using the ringtone I selected as default) the phone just gongs slowly. It particularly happens when my son calls (I have no idea why). The problem is that the gonging sound is quite low in volume, and I almost always hear it too late to answer in time. Does anyone else have this problem, and if so, how can I fix it?

I don't see the clock anymore in flip cover window after pressing power button. I see the home screen. Also when I open the flip cover screen stays black for so long I tap the screen to get to my home screen. This was working perfectly weeks ago. Settings haven't been touched and flip cover settings is on. Phone is so much slower over all even after boosting. Deleted many apps still way slower. Was great initially but not the same now. Using Evie.

Connects to home no problem and mobile if I turn it on but it will not connect to public free McDonalds type wifi as it did in the past but it will alert me when one is available

Alcatel One Touch Idol 3: WiFi Display stopped working

My WiFi Display used to work with both of my Rokus. One day, my phone stopped connecting. Other phones are able to connect just fine. Why did it stop working?? Can it be fixed?

Alcatel OneTouch Evolve: Can I separate the LCD screen from the digitizer?

Is it possible to separate the LCD screen from the digitizer on the OneTouch Evolve? The screen is completely blank on power up. The home key and back keys light up after about a minute and that's how I know the battery is good, but nothing on the screen.

I have an Alcatel One Touch Evolve 2 and I had plugged the phone into my HP laptop to transfer some more music to it and it told me that the computer could not recognize my phone and asked me to format it and me not thinking that it was going to erase everything the phone needed to work, I had formatted it. I thought it was only going to erase my SD card but that wasn't the case. Now the phone won't turn on and when I plug it back into my HP laptop, the computer will begin to scan the phone, but then it will stop. The computer will keep trying and the same thing will happen again. Is there any way that this can be fixed or am I stuck with a paper weight for a phone?

I dropped my phone and although out stayed on at the time. It finally died and when i plugged the charger up to it, it got really hot and started smoking. Do I need a new battery?

Whenever I make or get a call, the screen goes blank and it doesn't matter if I press any buttons or the screen. Only when the call ends does my screen re-appear. I also tried rebooting/restarting the phone to no avail. Can you please help?

My phone turns off out of nowhere even when it is fully charged or has a substantial battery percentage. It usually won't turn back on for a long time. I have tried pressing and holding the power button and plugging it into a charger, but nothing seems to power it back up. I recently got this phone not even a year ago, so it shouldn't be a problem with the battery. This issue started happening maybe last month or two months ago. If you could help or have an idea what may be causing this that would be great.

Alcatel One Touch Evolve 2: How to wipe internal memory (phone won't turn on)

I would like to wipe or destroy internal memory before recycling the device.

Phone won't turn on after charging for hours. A white LED does turn on whenever I plug in a charger.

I've tried a hard reset (holding power and volume up keys)

When I plug into a computer it doesn't show up as a USB device.

Looking at the inside I'm not able to identify where the internal memory would be (for image of internals, see Alcatel One Touch Evolve 2 Rear Speaker Replacement
