iPhone 4S: Dropped, screen cracked and blank, beeping sound

Hi all,

I dropped my iPhone 4s and the screen cracked and the phone went dead as in the screen went black. I have connected it with a USB to my macbook and it sees the phone. It (the phone) is beeping away as if the power is low every 6 seconds non stop.

I have tried calling it, it doesn't ring but sounds to the caller as if it is ringing and then goes to answering machine.

I can't back up as the macbook is asking for my screencode (which I can't type in as I can't see anything as the screen is cracked and black).

I have tried the press down power and other switch several times but that magic trick isn't working for me.

Do I just need to bite the bullet and get a new one or should I go to a repair shop or what do you think? The first available genius bar meeting is a week away. I don't really fancy opening it up myself.

Has anyone had this happen and had a successful outcome somehow?

Thanks a million

iPhone 4S: How can I make a clear glass iPhone rear panel?

The clear iphone back kit is sweet, but it occurs to me that you are probably using a polycarbonate sheet rather than a glass one. I would love to make a glass back to maintain the feel that was designed into the iPhone. I can cut glass flat patterns easily, but am unaware of how the rear panel mounts. Any help/direction/input would be greatly appreciated.

iPhone 4S: No sounds come out of my internal speakers or headphones

Ok so to begin I was trying to replace my iPhones battery with a brand new one (my old battery was dieting really quick) ok so I attempted to repair it myself I did not want to pay $80 for an apple specialist to do and plus it did not look too difficult so what ended up happening was when I tried unplugging the battery from the phone the battery connector that is on the phone broke out and was connected with the battery after I had pulled it out of the phone so a I assembled everything back together but of course it was not turning on so I went to go plug it into a wall outlet with the 30- pin dock connector that came with the phone , it turned and everything but you a lot of stuff was disabled and could not be turned on like wifi Bluetooth and It wasn't connected to any carrier even though it's connected to sprint mobile and I just realized that the speakers are not working either I'm gonna get the battery connector fixed tomorrow I just wanted to know if the speakers and everything else will be working after I get the new battery and the connector solder back on or did something else break ? P.S the vibrator does not work either when there's no battery

After a day it started turning off and/or restarting by itself. Changed the battery but same issue.

Changed the logic board but still the same issue.

Found out after a while that it does not shut off as long as it is in use but when it goes into standby and the screen goes black it restarts or shuts off after a few minutes.

Anyone have an idea what´s causing this?

iPhone 4S: iPhone 5 only charges when turned on

Hi, I have a strange one here with a customers phone. The phone came to me after someone else had changed the battery on it. The phone wouldn't come on and wouldn't charge and the other person refused to resolve the problem. I changed the battery and dock connector, charged the phone up to 100% as it had some juice in the battery anyway and gave the phone back. The phone was returned to me the following day with the customer saying it won't come back on. I tried it with my charger and had no luck, I then removed the battery and tried it in another phone and it charged fine. I returned the battery to the phone and it would charge just fine whilst turned on. I left it plugged into the charger and it stayed on fine. I turned the phone off and left it unplugged only to find it was dead again the next morning. It would also not charge either, so repeated the battery charging again and it's now got the battery back in and is charging again, so two issues here, one.... It goes flat when not turned on and two once the battery is dead the phone won't charge it unless its turned on ?.

iPhone 4S: Black screen after replacement

I just replaced cell signal antenna and the power-button/sensor cord and I adjusted the home button, cause it was too tight.

After I was done and put it all together, the screen was white on one half of the screen and black on the other half, after 10 seconds the white faded away and it all got black.

I then turned it off by holding home and power button, then I whiped the LCD and digitizer connectors with a piece of paper, I also replugged the battery connector just to be sure.

When I reassembled it again, the screen wouldn't even turn on at all. To make sure it actually was on, I Connected it to the PC, it turned out to be on, but the phone speaker itself made an beep noise every 5 seconds while Connected to the PC.

What has happened?

Update:

I cleaned the connectors again with Windex on a Q-Tip.

Now it's just back to black screen, but atleast it's on.

iPhone 4S: iPhone 4s will not power on...

OK, so its been a while since i used my iphone 4s. its been in parts for about a year and I just recently bought all new hardware for it. The hardware I replaced goes as follows:

Proximity sensor

Home Button cable

Charger port

Battery

LCD Screen

I pretty much replaced everything in relation to power. I kept it on the charger for about atleast an hour. At most, the IC's under the camera warms up, but no other responses. The computer doesn't even read it, which is how i know it has not powered on. There was no water damage because i strictly took it apart to replace the exterior, but just got lazy. I also tried researching the schematics, perhaps I can try to find out where the flow of electricity stops, but its really hard to find. Looking for suggestions...

iPhone 4S: Replaced display assembly - home button & screen don't work

I have followed the guide (iPhone 4S Screen Replacement) to replacing the iPhone 4S display assembly. I believe I did it correctly except for one thing (the 1.5mm screw in step 18 seems to have been stripped on the way out so it is not securely replaced).

Now the home button doesn't work (it won't depress unless I put a lot of pressure on it), and the screen doesn't work either. When I turn it on, it starts out gray and with lightly defined vertical stripes that slowly fade out, then it lightens to a brighter gray, then goes dark.

Any thoughts would be much appreciated!
