Analog RCA Audio not Working

I have the Apple TV 1st Gen and am trying to use the RCA analog audio output, but no sound is coming out. I have tried connecting the RCA cable directly to the TV, into my receiver, and even tried routing it through my computer's audio, but it still has not worked.

I have googled extensively about this problem and haven't found anything extremely helpful.

In case anyone is wondering, I don't have the option of using the hdmi audio, or the optical audio. I have, however had the opportunity to test if the hdmi audio works, and it does.
